what if, instead of roshani just killing aiden off and reviving him with no consequences, she’d brought him back, but, as a side effect, he forgets everything about the otherworld, including aru.

after getting revived, he wakes up to the potatoes shouting his name, confused as to who they were. the moment they realized aiden didn’t recognize them, they were crushed.

cut to the epilogue, it’s in aiden’s pov and he wakes up from a nightmare. he doesn’t remember much about it, but he recalls a pretty girl with shoulder length hair and chestnut skin sobbing his name. he’d never seen her before, but she was just so…familiar. it was unnerving.

he decides to take a walk to get his mind off of it, and he finds said girl on a park bench, sniffling and sitting with her head between her arms. hearing him approach, she looks up, tears streaming down her cheeks. her eyes widen as she sees his face, although he’s not quite sure why.

aiden, realizing who she it and, not quite sure what to do in a situation like this, blurts out,

“i saw you in my dream!”

both parties blush at the statement and an awkward silence ensures. 

she sniffles and wipes her eyes.

“you don’t know who i am, do you?” she asks quietly, voice quivering.

he shakes his head, unsure of how to respond, instead opting to sit down in the spot next to her.

“i’m sorry. i feel like i should. i can’t seem to remember a lot of things, lately.” 

there’s a long beat of silence between the two, neither quite sure what to say, or how to say it.

“let’s start over,” aiden finally says, extending his hand.

“i’m aiden acharya. i’m 16 years old, and i love photography.”

the girl laughs, the sound coming out as a wet hiccup. she takes his hand.

“aru shah, 15. consumer of swedish fish, eater of oreos.”

aiden snorts, shaking arus hand firmly and wow her hands are soft. he lets himself hold her hand for a moment, relishing in the familiarity of it all, before suddenly and somehow gracefully getting up from the park bench, nearly dragging aru with him.

“pleasure to meet you, aru shah,” he says, kissing her knuckles. aru blushes and then laughs, mock curtsying.

“the pleasure is mine, aiden acharya.”

i actually already did this prompt! i don't have that much left but uhm

-they're absolute badasses. they focus on working and fighting together

-Aru changes her hairstyle up a bit and cuts and bleaches the ends a bit, and Aiden actually kinda likes it(he likes Aru in general, so we weren't surprised)

-when aru and aiden deal with rude reporters, aru uses her words to make them feel bad, and aiden uses logic to make them feel stupid

-when they get back to highschool, aru passes aiden off as the canadian dude who gave her mono

-aiden hates it, but aru insists that it was neccesary

-suprisingly, nothing changes that much in their dynamic

-their first date is a movie theater where they both get dropped off by their respective parents </3

-they had to both be home by 7 for it </3

The whole "Happy birthday, Arundhati. Wait. Who is this? Were you alone with him? WHY WAS HIS LAST THOUGHT A KISS???" scenario is what the Sleeper could have been as a real dad to Aru if you don't consider the fact that he was out to tear the world in half...and that breaks me.

Headcanon about Ariden’s kids

ok, so she has all the good looks of her father

but all the obliviousness of Aru

she is named after both of her grandmother’s

This is the elder daughter

younger daughter is named Kara

in honor of the original one

her full name is Kara Surya Shah-Acharya

I know what you’re thinking

wont they get mixed up?

but in my mind, she is killed in the final battle/

Their son’s name is Chayya

After shadowfax. ‘shadow in the Indian languages is Chayya
