Been mulling over this one for some time now and I do think it has a ring of truth to it. I know that for me, mentally having a group of people who check in on me and encourage me to be the best me I’m able to be is amazing. An yeah, if I count them I’m blessed enough to reach a number higher than 5. However, looking at those people and seeing who I spend the most amount of time with...yeah! I can not see why this rings true with me. The friend who I’ve reconnected with. The friend and coach who has supported me since day one. The friend who always checks in even though we’ve never physically met. The friend who I can call upon to help me with the simplest of tasks when my back cops out or my head mentally implodes and the friend and second mother who although miles away brings me a valid sense of home and of belonging. I am so very thankful that each and every person in my close circle is supportive, helpful, insightful, funny, diligent, caring and so, so much more. What I am grateful for most of all is that the people in my close circle, they see me for me. Not my mental health. Not my physical health. Just me. To them I am Emily, illy, Hyper or Ems...whatever it might me, they see me as me and although they all support me in their own way...I am very grateful that they are in my circle and it’s true what they say...family isn’t always blood related. Family are those who love and support you no matter what. The good days, the bad days, the days that are just days days, their support is unfaltering, unwavering and understanding...so yes, I’d happily become like anyone of them but above all else, I am thankful and grateful that I get to have them in my life. #ptsdsurvivor #ptsdwarrior #ptsdawareness #ariixh3plan #ariixproducts #greatfriends #grateful #friends https://www.instagram.com/p/BoSbepEBEDm/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1rjiuuucj7xj5
