Meriadoc is finally ready for display! They came out beautifully. Theirs is the second skull in my collection, so excited to get it up on the shelf. What a lovely birthday treat!

Meriadoc is an armadillo, found dead and desiccated last thanksgiving.

I’ve been wanting to add some of these cool ancient puzzle pieces to my collection for a while now!

These are fossilized Giant Armadillo Osteoderms! Osteoderms are the bone plates that make up an armadillo’s protective shell. See those little white specks in the last two photos? Those are osteoderms from modern day nine-banded armadillos!

Finally got the armadillo in a bleach bath. It's been degreasing forever and it looks like this is as good as it's gonna get. If it's not perfectly whitened I'm OK with that, just gonna be glad to finally get to display it!

The very battered and broken remains of a roadkill armadillo I’ve been cleaning. It’s in a peroxide soak now and then some of the bones will go in curiosity collections and the others will be available on their own in my Etsy shop!
