Riley Howell, UNCC Hero, Awarded Purple Heart, Bronze Star

Riley Howell was a student at UNCC in April, when a gunman opened fire on campus, hitting six people. Riley tackled the shooter, and unfortunately, lost his life in the process. But police credit his action with the ability to disarm the suspect. Riley was one of two students killed.

my roommate and her boyfriend, who are both in army rotc, are watching a war movie and discussing the weapons and inefficiency of the tactical gear, and I really want to judge them, but just last week I sat in a theater watching Justice League saying to myself “the amazons are holding their bows wrong” so I guess we all have our historical time period of military specialization
