crew of The Revenge encounter sirens , a headcannon:

okay i've seen so many siren hcs for ofmd and how frenchie would be able to resist cause aroace ( a lot of ppl are headcannoning him as such and yes i agree , love it ) but here's the thing , sirens lure sailors to their deaths by the sweetness of their song , and people have interpreted that to mean that they sing about your heart's deepest desires . but desires arent limited to romance and sex , so even if frenchie is aroace , he's got other desires that could be used to lure him

now here's my hc

if u know about the myth of the sirens , u know about Odysseus and his encounter . he managed to escape and advised his crew to fill their ears with beeswax and Odysseus tied himself to the mast of his ship to keep himself from going towards the sirens BUT there's another story , one where the Argonauts managed to escape the sirens because they had Orpheus on board , who upon hearing the voices , used his lyre and played a tune that was so loud and enchanting that it drowned out the sirens' voices .

so idk , the idea of Frenchie instantly recognizing a hauntingly beautiful tune from stories he's heard of the sirens and immediately breaking into a loud song to keep the rest of the crew from jumping overboard is so cool

but obviously it's fun to think about what the sirens might say to each crew to get them to follow their voice and how frenchie might be unaffected cause he's aroace but yea idk i vaguely remember him singing and thought of orpheus and yea now here we are :]

I TOLD U THESE THINGS HAPPEN

I don’t even know how likely it is to happen, but I want aroace Frenchie to be canon so badly.

I’m just graving that representation so much and seeing how they’ve given other orientations rep, I’m really hoping they do this.

There’s just something about him be aroace that’s so personal to me. I also wouldn’t mind him being in a qpr with wee John, but I’m begging for him to be aroace. I would literally sob.
