Reasons I’m obsessing over strattland:

1) autistic power couple

2) they pass the olive test (everyone thinks that Grace would be the one to hate them but Stratt has been suffering in dignified silence for years)

3) aroace supremacy

4) “he ordered no pickles on his burger.” (“Oooh my god Eva why would you say that they’re working minimum wage I’m literally fine with eating the pickle-“)

5) they both recognise how important the others job is to them, and would never ask them to change. Stratt travels as she needs, Ryland makes sure that she has a home to return to, and not a house

6) did i mention the autism

I think that (au no astrophage aroace power couple) strattland should get fish together.

It’s Stratt’s idea, oddly enough. Grace has a very minor grudge against fish (organisms that need water even MORE blatantly than the rest of the gosh darn planet-), and she refuses to be with a man who makes faces at the aquarium and insists they’re sniding him.

Plus, the company would be good while she’s travelling. And he might do something interesting like teaching them how to spell.

This entire endeavour backfires in the manner of dads who did not want the cat.

“Eva these are our CHILDREN! How could you refuse them so cruelly?”

“Grace I am not giving the fish a bedtime kiss.”

“Just through the glass! You don’t have to stick your head in the water or anything silly like that-“

“Oh how terribly glad I am that nothing silly is occurring.”

(Both Grace and the fish pout. There’s really quite a resemblance)

“Please? Pretty please? She sleeps so much better when she gets a-“

“No. I’m going to bed.”

(The fish gets a goodnight kiss. Eva strongly debates whether it’s time to arrange an end for herself when she starts to unironically refer to the fish as their children in her head. Eventually she capitalises on this as a way to get people to stop asking about children - she keeps her answers short and technically true and also still about the fish.

Grace does teach them to spell.)

OR Grace gets kidnapped by a terrorist cult, Stratt goes on a very polite rampage, several world leaders are harrassed, two bedrooms are forcefully entered, ilyukhina's vodka is commandeered and Grace finally gets a hug (feat. the Vat being a family, Vattling shenanigans, Stratt's wardrobe choices and Grace having self esteem issues)
