Y’all I want some fucking “boring” stories for once. I want 15,000 words of an aromantic person living their best life without the intrusion of people trying to fix them or make their life better.

I want a story about a person coming out as aromantic and there’s no drama. Everyone just accepts it.

I want this person to just buy a house alone and not have some nasty realtor making comments about how “this is a family neighborhood, wouldn’t you prefer a condo?”

I want them decorating the home EXACTLY how they want it decorated. And if that means a bubble gum colored bathroom so be it, it’s theirs!

I want to read about the challenge and THRILL of learning basic home maintenance w/o any romantic hero sweeping in to fix the pipes. Just the experience of watching YouTube or reading a book, failing, trying again and succeeding.

I want the hero to talk about the years of love and dedication it takes to create a magical garden and its perfect beauty w/o being forced to tolerate a nonsense love interest.

In short I want a story that accurately reflects my life! We are far too often told that romance is what makes the ordinary extraordinary and I’m fed up with that!

My life is simple and beautiful and unromantic as fuck but nevertheless important and I’d like to see a storyteller appreciate that for once!

I made a mistake today, I defended myself against aphobia and unprovoked attacks and now every time I open Tumblr there’s someone new who thinks they can hurt me by telling me I’m an idiot or thinks a good argument against my opinions is to add puke emojis to my posts.

The net result of my mistake today is that I’ve learned something.

I’ve learned that if people want to vilify you and insist that you are wrong your arguments and defenses won’t convince them to leave you alone.  So I’m having to adopt a new way of existing online and I saw a great Keanu Reeves quote that I’m choosing to live by. 

"I'm at that stage in life where I stay out of discussions. Even if you say 1+1=5, you're right - have fun."

That’s going to be the stance that I’m taking moving forward. 

My blog is a collection of my opinions, if you want to talk to me about them okay but if you want discourse well, no thanks, and if you want to believe I’m the devil because I think that Valentines day is a trash holiday then “you’re right, have fun.”

PS Please don’t reply with ANYTHING about platonic soulmates. I’m sick of “but platonic love tho” being the excuse to dismiss everything aromantics say.

Do you ever get that dreamy far away look maybe with a cheeky little smile, and people ask you who you’re thinking of.

But you say nothing and just give a cagey head shake because you’re aro and you weren’t thinking of anybody.

You looked all wistful because you just remembered you have really good leftovers waiting at home for dinner.

I just remembered my ONE ace/aro friend called me today and asked if in like 15 years I’d want to buy some land and build a house with her.

Y’all I’m so fucking excited!

We agreed on 2 small houses cause she has BPD and I have ADHD and we’re pretty sure our sleep schedules would conflict. Also she keeps pets and I don’t.

Anyway, this is the first time I’ve ever made plans with someone other than family for my future and it was so cool like we both want an environmentally low impact property. We don’t want grass, we do want trees. No AC in either house because they’re bad for the environment and loud AF. She wants a fence and I’m cool so long as wildlife can get through.

We talked for like 2 hours just going over everything to determine if it’d work. It was so awesome!

The best part though is 100% platonic arrangement and straight up we’d BOTH be single. Like this is not an arrangement for a future QPR this is a shared housing plan.

And yeah 15 yrs is a long time and anything could happen but hopefully it works out.

Anyway was a cool moment for my aro self.

I’m very annoyed right now.

There are so many beautiful boys in the world and I have no romantic interest in any of them.

All my creepy ass wants to do is stare at them all day.

Who the hell decided aromantic and aesthetic attraction was a good mix.

Got on Tumblr for Some aro rep and validation

Got distracted by the number of likes I’ve gotten logged off tumblr only to realize I forgot to visit the tag.

Guess it’s time to visit the ADHD tag for some ADHD rep and validation

Just realized I’m somewhat romance repulsed.

I’m okay with romance when it’s other people or fiction but imagining myself in a romantic relationship just makes me uncomfortable.

It’s surprising to realize these things about myself because for a LONG time I was so sure I’d get married someday.

Thinking back though I realize all my best imagined marriages were with celebrities, aka completely un obtainable men (and occasionally women) I actually had no chance in hell of ever even meeting.

These imaginary relationships are safe in their impossibility.

Anyway, all of this is to say, I feel badly when I unfollow people because they post romantic things. But I kinda have to for self preservation.

P.S. sorry to all the sex repulsed asexuals who ar bombarded with that shit unexpectedly all the time.
