Flash! It’s Friday: Pilot Week
game overview & visibility tips
your task is to write something, anything, using the two prompts below 🫡
this week: if you wish to, share your favorite paragraph or line you wrote from this exercise in a reblog. if you timed yourself, feel free to note what time you rolled. if you only wrote one word, line, or paragraph, share that. a good writing session in this space is defined as one in which at least one word was written.
Time
if you want to be timed: roll a d10 once and a d20 twice. the number on the d10 represents minutes. add the two numbers from the d20 rolls and that is your seconds. together, that is how much time you have to write.
Prompt 1
stick your hand into the nearest drawer/cabinet/etc. or onto the nearest table. the first one or two items you grab are your object(s).
Prompt 2
please read the following instructions carefully (screen reader instructions included!):
Below the Keep Reading cut is an array of items.
You are to close your eyes, move your finger/cursor down and/or side to side until satisfied, open your eyes, and then use that item you’re hovering over in the scene/snip/etc. you write.
The item array is about the length of a modern phone screen.
On mobile at least, clicking Keep Reading sends you back to the top of the post. Scroll down to the large space area below the Keep Reading, close your eyes, scroll down a little with your eyes closed to get to the array, and then randomly select something from the array.
Screen reader troubleshooting/instructions: You should be able to press down and hold, scroll up and down the lines of text of the array below, and then stop on a line when satisfied. The first item read to you is your prompt. Further instructions and information are below the array.
Ready? Close your eyes. . .
