Do you think being arrogant makes you a bad person? I've always seen it as a negative thing and something that needs immediate changing because it's not good. Though, one of my favorite characters was described that way. I didn't think he was, but I could be remembering things wrong from my childhood too. The topic was just brought up so, it got me thinking.
Huh. That’s a good question, Anon. And here’s my answer: no, not necessarily. It depends.
So my example may be a weird one, but just hear me out. So I don’t know if you’ve ever seen Star Wars, but Anakin Skywalker is an arrogant dude. He is. And how can he not be when he’s naturally talented and been raised as ‘The Chosen One’ but whatever.
He’s arrogant, but he’s a good guy. Until episode III anyway, and even then that’s complicated. He does good things, he saves people, he’s kind, he’s loyal, he loves fiercely. He also thinks he’s one of the best and above certain rules. 
Does that lead him to make bad choices sometimes? Totally. Is that something he should work on? Totally. Does that make him a bad person? The whole Darth Vader thing aside, no, it doesn’t.
Look all I’m saying is arrogance doesn’t automatically equal bad person. It means complicated and human. There’s more to a person than their arrogance, and if they work on that trait, that’s even better. If they don’t? Well, then it’s time to start being concerned and they probably need some outside help and accountability.
