Why did Oliver Queen have such a big hangup over Earth-1 Laurel Lance? Why? Why did he cheat on her with other women, including her sister Sara Lance and Samantha Clayton? Why did he feel that he had to permanently distance himself from Laurel, while she grieved over Tommy Merlyn’s death? Why not simply give her time to grieve before eventually resuming their renewed romance? Instead, he went back to sleeping with Sara after her return to Starling (Star) City. Why did he do that? And when Laurel had insisted upon becoming the new Black Canary, he put her down by insisting that she did not have what it took to become a costume vigilante. He could have offered to train her . . . but he didn’t. Why? I never really understood his refusal to train her or allow her to become part of Team Arrow after the events of (3.12) “Uprising”. Not really. Can anyone explain Oliver’s reactions to Laurel from a psychological point of view?
