Felicity Smoak Is One Brave Precious Badass Cupcake! #36

As we all know Felicity is a precious badass cupcake! I figure it can’t hurt to look at the many acts of bravery she has performed because let’s face it - our girl rocks!

Arrow 5x15 - I’m not going to lie I hate this scene. They both look fantastic but what impresses me about Felicity in this scene is she doesn’t kill him. She doesn’t even snap at him. She does point out in her pretty pink dress that maybe you shouldn’t ask your ex-fiancee to fix your current girlfriend’s problems because you are busy but in the end because she truly is the most forgiving person ever she does as requested. This is why Felicity Smoak is a much greater person than most. And no, I’m not over yet - STILL angry on her behalf.

Arrow 5x15 - Felicity still trying to help her sister-in-law. Oliver demonizing Thea was also a major issue for me. But this is about Felicity and Felicity was being supportive because she is AWESOME.

Arrow 5x16 - Poor Felicity burning the candle on both ends and it’s catching up to her. I love how she is completely thrown by Oliver’s concern. She also asks him to trust her. I love this scene it’s so underrated and brings me all the happy.

FELICITY SMOAK IS AMAZING.

Oliver’s public persona, particularly as the mayor, is actually very laid-back, good natured, affable. Public Oliver, when frustrated, gets ‘quiet angry’- he shuts down and stops being charming to express anger, sooner than he yells or says anything. It’s typically only interacting with his team in private that we get Oliver’s more natural state- aggressive, commanding, quick tempered. Oliver’s scary side is something he actually hides from most people. which is why, people who know him publicly first, like Curtis or Barry, are often extra intimidated when they meet the vigilante side and get glared at/yelled at/ berated. Because it’s like a different person. That’s why scenes like Oliver strangling Malcolm in the club in 3x09, or his confrontation with Chase in the hospital in 5x16, are so interesting and so visceral- the anger in those moments is so strong that the persona can’t hold it back and it breaks. And I think it’s another reason why most people in Star City would have a hard time believing that the charming, friendly, reserved mayor is capable of killing people.
