Arrow Rewatch 2018 2x16 Suicide Squad

I'm so behind on this rewatch. I'm going to binge this weekend so be prepared for an onslaught of these review posts.

Diggle Centric Episode for the win!!!!!!

- I find it really off putting seeing Oliver with Sara sleeping in the foundry. It's OTA's sacred space. Their home base. I like Sara, but...no.

Bratva Oliver! I love seeing him fighting in plain clothes so much. Also, the way the camera moves across him while he's holding the guns is badass.

Delicity!!!! Dig staking out Felicity's apartment gives me so many feels. She looks so cute in her pj's, and I love that she brings him hot coco.

'I just want to make sure you're OK, Felicity.'

'And I love you for it.' I agree with Felicity. Also, how brave is our girl? She knows Slade is a threat, but she's not going to hide.

'If Slade wants to kill me, he can.' It's funny how Slade does want to kill her in the end, because she's the woman Oliver loves. Is this a subtle little foreshadowing moment?

Lyla!!!! She looks amazing. John is a lucky boy ;) Dyla reunion. Their chemistry is so underrated. They spark so well together. I need an Olicity reunion scene like this one. Damn!

- love that we're getting Diggle flashbacks. It's about time. Seeing him as a soldier, seeing him on mission, meeting Lyla for the first time is such a joy to watch.

- Taskforce X/Suicide Squad - Deadshot, Shrapnel, Bronze Tiger and a little cameo from Harley Quinn. I always preferred Arrow's Suicide Squad over the movie, I have to say. I fell asleep during the movie lol.

Tying it to John's storyline was a masterstroke.

- Felicity!!!!

'We're still in the crime fighting business, right?'

Oliver pushing Sara away to protect her...I thought the whole point of dating Sara was that she could protect herself.

- I love how complex the relationship is between John and Deadshot. They bounce so well off each other. John hates him but has to work with him, even saving his life. Deadshot seems to have a lot of respect for John, yet loves to toy with him. Those two actors are great together.

- the flashbacks are a callback to the story John told Felicity in 1x14.

- John and Lyla have been having the same argument for the last 6 seasons lol.

- No, Laurel. You do not know Oliver better than anyone. Not anymore.

- How did Slade get that video of Shado?

- Waller does love a drone strike.

- side note; the nerve agent plot is kind of timely considering what's going on in my country right now. Kind of scary.

- John 'A soldier never leaves a brother behind' Diggle won't leave Lawton to die. He is too good of a man, and is once again learning that the world isn't always so straightforward.

- 'One thing I do know for sure, black and white, is that I can't ever lose you again.'

'Finally, something we agree on.'

This ship sails itself. They are so precious.

- I got a little teary eyed during that last flashback between John and Lyla. Her calling him Johnny for the first time and asking if it's alright if she calls him that. I love when she calls him Johnny. Him asking her first name, the smiles and the handshakes!!! They're relationship is so special. I love them.

- How does Amanda Waller not know that Slade Wilson is alive?

This is when we first found out that Oliver and Amanda knew each other.

Rating: ☆☆☆☆ not enough Felicity, but it makes up for it by giving us Diggle, flashbacks, Lyla and Dyla, plus the suicide squad.

Trip Down Memory Lane #21

It’s no secret that Season 6 of Arrow is leaving me beyond miserable - but now with the showrunner change I have the tiniest bit of hope. However, I still need cheering so I’m remembering times when Arrow made me happy. There was a whole lot of happy and good before I had my heart broken.

LOVE that Oliver can call Felicity without even looking - important skill!
