Other Details: Lizzie is the daughter of Robert Queen’s younger brother Andrew. She grew up extremely close to her cousin Oliver. Her parents were killed when she was 8 and she went to live with her aunt and uncle. Lizzie had anger issues that resulted in her not being able to make friends easily. In high school, she wound up with the wrong crowd and joined a gang based in the glades.
The gang got caught by SCPD when Lizzie was 17. Because of her friendship with Laurel, Officer Lance told Lizzie that he would let her go as long as she promised to change her life. He encouraged her to use her passion in a beneficial way and suggested that she look into joining the SCPD after high school. Lizzie agreed. She actually enjoyed the police academy, and was looking forward to becoming a police officer, until the day the Queen’s Gambit went down. After that, Quinton Lance, with no one else around to blame, took his anger at the loss of Sara out on Lizzie.
Lizzie got tired of being blamed for something she had no control over and quit the SCPD. The anger over losing her parents, something she thought she had gotten free from, resurfaced and was strengthened because of the loss of Robert and Oliver. She began working as a bartender in a seedy bar in the Glades. When one of the patrons got too handsy with her, she jumped over the bar and hit him. Rather than firing her, her boss suggested she work as a bouncer in his bar. After hours, he taught Lizzie how to fight so that she could handle herself in the Glades.
Lizzie upgraded past just being a bouncer at the one bar, and began to take on any bouncer/bodyguard work she could get. When Laurel started her law firm thing, Lizzie offered to provide protection to some of her clients, free of charge. She didn’t need the money, being a Queen, but she claimed she just liked helping people. The truth was, that she enjoyed fighting. It was an outlet for her anger.
She didn’t intentionally become the Glades Ghost. It was just something that happened. People started talking about a mysterious person stopping muggings and interfering in gang violence. It was Thea’s idea that Lizzie put on a mask and embrace it. Until Oliver returned, Thea was the only person who knew that Lizzie was the Ghost.
Once Lizzie found out that Oliver was the Hood, she convinced him to let her join him, and train her even more.
