𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐀 𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓. 𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐎𝐁𝐕𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐓 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐔𝐒 𝐁𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐍 by an infected or dying from any other reason. it makes alicent's eyebrows furrow, it makes a sense of unease settle in her chest as brown eyes glance away from the rotten, fly ridden corpses & outward for any sign of someone they might not be able to see. so far she sees nothing ... maybe it was someone passing through, maybe it was a fight between two different groups ? the world seemed to have split into two sides now: living & dead yet within that are communities, rouge groups, or people who prefer to be alone. ( alicent could understand that mindset, truly, but at the same time ... considering going through this without rhaenyra felt like a torment even at the idea of such imaginary life. would it be worth going on in that case ? no & she wouldn't. )
@arrowrot SAID, " PEOPLE DON'T JUST DIE LIKE THAT. "
❛ i don't think we should hang around here for long, daryl. ❜ says alicent with the unease in her tone clear. take one more glance down at the dead then back up ahead of them, booted feet step over what looks a woman & toward their destination: a group of stores in town to find some food, some supplies to be able to move on from here. most things will be picked over, she knows, but it can't hurt to look. ❛ if those people were shot trying to get in this store then someone might, maybe, be keeping an eye on this shop. so, we need to be quick checking 'round. ❜ alicent leans down to draw knife out of its holding on her leg to try to loosen up the door with ... something blocking it from inside ?
forehead kiss
She had been watching Judith and RJ for him, something she was always happy to do. He didn’t even have to ask, her answer was always yes, regardless of what her own schedule looked like. Having collected them from school, she had helped them both with her homework and now they were in the other room playing, their giggles filling the space with life. A reminder of just how alive they all were. She had settled herself on the couch with a book in her lap when Daryl entered. Her face brightened with a smile as she saw him. “Hey, you.”
Instead of replying to her right away, he leaned down and pressed his lips to her forehead. A soft hum vibrated in her chest as her eyes closed for a moment, leaning into it a little. “You’re back earlier than I’d thought you’d be.” Not that she was complaining. She had closed her book when he walked in, but now she set it aside. "Are you hungry?" Already she was moving to her feet, and half way to the small kitchen in a few strides. "I made more than enough when I made something for the kids earlier."
@arrowrot liked for a lyric starter ⸻ from rick.
❛ i wish you could see the wicked truth, caught up in a rush, it's killing you. ❜ / the other side of paradise, glass animals.
𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄, 𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐏𝐓, 𝐈𝐍 𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐕𝐄. a lesson alicent learned early on into this outbreak ... things you never thought would be normalized suddenly, without realizing, do & you don't blink an eye at them like you would have before. before, in a normal world, alicent would have screamed ... or vomited ... or fainted at the sight of dead, & normal people, strewn about the ground or in shops or in homes gone into for supplies. the brain blocks out certain things as well to keep you sane but who can be fully same if you choose to keep living in their new reality ? ( it helps when you have people around you to ground you, to remind you of things of the past. like rhaenyra who she wouldn't have survived without or even daryl who alicent is slowly beginning to want to consider him a friend. )
@arrowrot SAID, " SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT, THE WAY THEY DIED. "
❛ what do you mean ? ❜ alicent asks as she continues to shine a light down the abandoned isle of a store. it looked pretty picked over, some things busted open but anything was better than nothing. food, medicine, cloths, or things to use as weapons. ❛ corpses are corpses most of the time, daryl. not many ways you can kill 'em that'd look abnormal. ❜ voice echos slightly, the hole in the ceiling making occasional wind the only other noise besides themselves. no groaning, no grumbling which means no dead ... right ?
[ BLOOD ]: sender walks into receiver's room covered in blood. // for dolly .
𝒶𝓃𝓈𝓌ℯ𝓇ℯ𝒹 𝒶𝓈𝓀𝓈: accepting.
She's occupying herself by flipping through an old magazine, boredly turning each page with a dramatic sigh slipping from her pursed lips. Her peace is disrupted, suddenly, by Daryl walking into the room. At first, Dolly doesn't acknowledge him, too interested in looking like she needs attention... But then she smells a strong copper scent, and like a shark and a drop of blood, Dolly is focused on Daryl.
Her eyebrows shoot up at his current state ─── he's covered almost head to toe in blood. ❝ Holy shit! ❞ She exclaims, grinning predatorily as she shoots up to saunter over to him. ❝ You get into some trouble, sugar? ❞ Her eyes are dark with hunger, ﹠ she giggles huskily as she runs her finger through the gore coating his strong arm. ❝ Mmmm... I love a man covered in blood... You've never looked better. ❞

places a newly braided flower crown on her head . " judith helped me find the flowers . "
Bright laughter tumbles past her lips as she accepts the offered gift by bowing her head a little as he places the crown of colorful blossoms. “Did she now?” Not that she was surprised. “Well I will have to thank her, and of course thank you,” she adds, her smile making her dark eyes glitter.
She brings up a hand, allowing her fingertips to trace along it, feeling the even tightness of the braided stems, the distance from one blossom to the next, close enough but not so close that they might crush each other. It is rather near perfection, though there's a bit of reluctance to admit it might be the tiniest bit better than the ones she crafted. “It’s beautiful, I love it.” Words are sealed with a sweet kiss as he settles down beside her. “But tell me, was it your idea to make it or was that Judith’s too?”
