19.Your muse trying to share a scarf with mine
Somewhere along the lines she felt her dislike for dwarves slip away. Instead, she had grown fond of one or two of them. They were stubborn, possessing a loyalty to their homeland like no other. It warmed her heart to see such a thing, she could very well relate to those exact emotions. Tauriel would do anything for her people and her King, just as they would do.
In particular one dwarf had stood out from all the others, a fellow archer no less. Quite often within their stay did she invite him along for shooting practice, and very rarely did he ever decline. Even on a cold day like this they were found outside, as they had been for quite some time.
“You look like you’re freezing”
It was statement more than a question, and despite how the cold had settled into her skin she was not ready to return.
“I shall be fine”
She replied hastily, drawing her bow once more before firing an arrow out and into a target. It seemed her answer was not satisfactory for the dwarf, within a few seconds of her answer he was standing at her side.
“Tauriel, you’re not dressed warmly enough to stay out here”
She could hear the concern in his voice, although it did not deter her from pulling the bowstring back once more. It was not until his hand caught the string that she turned her attention to him.
“I am fine”
The frown upon his face only deepened, prompting a stare down between the two of them.
“Put this one then”
His hands tugged at the deep red scarf around his neck, motioning for her to lean down so he could place it around her.
“I do not requi-“
“Please?”
It was obvious he would not end this until she did as requested, much to her displeasure. None the less she leaned down, watching curiously as he tucked the scarf around her neck before he was satisfied.
“See? Now you’ll be a bit warmer”
Even if her skinned was warm some, it was her heart that warmed up far more.
