A little FAQ’s post!

“Can I use your art for profile pictures?”

Yes that is fine! I would appreciate credit in the bio! (example: pfp by @laurenillustrated)

“Do you take requests?”

Technically, no. I don’t take requests. Although if I see a mention of a story or characters that I like it’s possible that they might appear in my sketches or illustrations! I actually have a list of many book characters I want to get to that people happen to comment as well 😂

“What digital brushes do you use?”

For procreate I use Old Beach, 6B Pencil, and my own brushes from my brush pack! (Linked in bio)

“When will you draw more _____?”

If you’ve followed me for a particular fan art or subject I’m sorry to disappoint 😂 All of my fan art works are very random and come and go with whatever inspires me at that moment.

“What inspired your art style?”

Currently my works are very inspired by vintage children’s and editorial illustration! Specifically 1920s to 1960s.

Some of my favorite illustrators include: Norman Rockwell, Harry Beckoff, Maurice Sendak, Earl Oliver Hurst, Cicely Mary Barker, and Jessie Willcox Smith!

omg hi hi thank you!!! i appreciate it a lot! Natsu will always be a comfort character to draw, esp when I draw him w Lucy HAHA I use Clip Studio Paint EX to draw and all the main brushes I used are ones I downloaded on the asset store that are free! A number of them got deleted unfortunately, but I never really stick to one set anyway and there are brushes that could imitate the effect anyway! For sketching (and sometimes coloring) I use this set

Coloring: I can't find the exact set because I think it's been taken down, but I have this set and I like layering w it if I'm not using the other one.

Those are some of the brushes I use BUT I also use the default brushes on csp too. Especially if I want to have a more typical anime-esque style!

I saw this doormat on fb and being as cheap as I am I decided I’d just make it, so I painted this on my old faded doormat and I’m so pleased with how it came out! 🌿🍄🎨

For basic sketches and line art:

Top to bottom: Pigma Brush Pens (Black, Red, Sepia) for varying line thickness, Copic Multiliner (Black, either 0.03 or 0.05 depending on what's available) for super fine details, Uniball Eco Pens (Black, Blue, Red, Green) for medium lines, White gel pens (Uniball Signo Broad, Pentel Hybrid Gel Grip) for highlighting, Stabilo point 88 (Black) as a backup for medium lines, Faber-Castell Grip Matic mechanical pencil (0.7, HB lead), Faber-Castell coloured pencil (similar to the Colour Grip but a special edition without varnish or grip) for base sketches and rosy cheeks :)

For colouring:

Left: a mix of Faber-Castell Colour Grip, Fantasia Colour (random British brand), unbranded and other random coloured pencils in 30-40 different shades; a dozen or so old Letraset markers (light and dark version of each rainbow colour, light skin colours)

Right: stylefile markers (complete set of warm, cool, and neutral greys with black and clear blending markers) for monochrome colouring or as a base layer to add more shade variety to the colourful markers and coloured pencils

Of course I use an eraser as well but it's just your usual run-of-the-mill kind, nothing fancy.

How do you get your lineart so s o f t like that??? I've tried doing that effect before but usually that also comes with opacity changes and fs up the drawing overall

I’m not sure I understand 100%, but I’ll try to answer?? The brush I use is usually set to 15% opacity so my colours always show through it. I also set my lineart to Multiply and colour the internal lines to blend even more with my colours. Uuuuuuh other than that I’m very picky with colours so that they always compliment the drawing as a whole which might be a big part of the “soft” effect? I’ve received some questions so I thought I may as well make a master post about my art, using my art, tattoo commissions and etc.

First of all thanks for considering me and asking for permission, that means a lot to me and I appreciate it so much!

I am happy to do tattoo/art commissions. If you want to see my art please see my [instagram account] (since I recently deleted everything off my blog including my old art posts) just so you get a feel of my art style - I mostly do minimalist line art/black work designs. 

commissions will be charged based on the amount of time it takes me to draw the piece (most of the ones I post on here don’t take me more than an hour) please feel free to message me on here or on my instagram if you want a quote.

If you want to use a design that I have already drawn as a tattoo I will be happy to let you use it for a discounted rate.

i understand that stuff like this can be out of budget for some people so we can definitely work something else out instead (like buying something from my redbubble shop) any way to show your support is appreciated ^__^
