Finally back home, maybe i will finally finish this animation! I'd want to make this a full animation me thinks. but ugh i hope I can go back to work soon.

My first semester finals for textile and fashion of the second year. I had a lot of fun learning how to weave and how to use a mechanical embroidery machine. Also had to do a lot by myself because of not very helpful teachers but i think i did great!

Part of me wanted to do lower cards for this project, since it was gonna be a tri fold but I know for a fact I would’ve just burnt myself out trying to get things perfect!! and so instead I’m doing a room scene split up into 3 scenes- my childhood, my middle school/current years, and my hopes for the future. This first part is my childhood- focusing on my very young years.

As far back as I can remember rabbits were like. My ENTIRE personality until middle school. Half of my stuffed animals were rabbits, I did SO much research on how to care for one, vets in my area, the whole shebang- so obviously there’s a bunch of those lil guys on the wall.

As for the area around the book (Two Hungry Bears, my favourite Little Tiger book as a kid)- I also decided to put some things that I saw often as a kid- replacement gtube tubing and gauze. I’d pull it out a lot, apparently- and some of my earliest memories are of getting new tubing on my port.

Overall I wanted this to be a very cozy, childish scene. Pink and yellow have always been my favourite colors (as much as I tried to deny pink as a little kid); and I’ve always had an image in my head of what my “safe space” would look like. Combining that concept with my room and the skills I’ve learned over the two and a half months, we get this piece. I’m super happy with how lineless it is, especially since I used to struggle with that a lot <3!!
