when you need to fill the empty space of your folio so you dead ass just:

some development pieces from my major folio
This is my first proper study for my art folio about the human figure - in manga styles (since I’m not only a nerd but a massive weeb).
I thought folios would be pretty boring as assignments but this was actually pretty fun.
I basically just drew Popuko in the same style. The ben-day dots didn’t show very well in this picture.
and again this went up on my insta a while back, but here’s my 2019 art folio part six!
I originally did this about june but I didn’t like it because it felt so sparse and very flat, so I redid it and I used a colour scheme for once! the original inspiration was an apartment design from 1965. as you can tell I added texture to the floor which made it seem less flat, I also added a conversation pit to fill in the space and just added things!

I'm currently working on a watercolour Pride flag project. I couldn't sleep tonight so I spent the time trying to get all the colours right. HOO BOY.
Did you know that almost none of the pride flags have identical colours? 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
Its great metaphorically, NOT SO GREAT WHEN YOU HAVE TO FIND 5 DIFFERENT PURPLES.
Despite my struggles with purple and pink, Im ready to start testing out layout and design. I want to try different techniques and see if stylised flags work with watercolours.
I also want to do some straight (lol) up no frills flags for a minimalistic style.
I've got so much reference work for this project because it's the first big project I'm doing with my new watercolours (Koh I Noor disks), so there were a lot of colour mixing charts leading up to this.
I'm planning for the final pieces to be half of an A5 piece of watercolour paper (cold pressed 400), with a masked border for a clean finish.
