Absolutely delighted that Nowhere to Go is in this amazing exhibition. CasildART has partnered with Kroll, a division of Duff and Phelps (the global governance, transparency and risk consultancy) and ArtCan to explore how Covid-19 and new technologies will change the face of the global art industry in the 21st Century. The event includes a two-part webinar series and a virtual gallery event. Register to attend the webinar here. Kroll is hosting the webinar series on the global art market which will be presented by Gareth Fletcher of Sotheby’s Institute of Art and featuring experts from Hauser & Wirth, HMRC, Demif Gallery and The Society of London Art Dealers. The virtual gallery event is called the #shapeofthenew and has been curated by Sukai Eccleston of CasildART. It features the work from a diverse range of artists, across painting, photography and video. Faced with a pandemic, climate change, social injustice and fractured economies, what certainties can be relied on to shape ‘the new’ for ourselves and our world? 28 artists from across the globe respond to this question and express their ideas and impressions of the current moment. The exhibition is a stunning showcase of contemporary art, featuring work from established and emerging artists, including Oluwole Omofemi (Nigeria) Tiffanie Delune (UK/Belgian Congo) and Diana Rosa (Cuba/Canada). The #shapeofthenew is light and dark; bold and confronting . Playful and dynamic too. Colour on canvas. Collaging new identities. Video deconstructing and reconstructing old narratives. The exhibition is hosted in a stunning virtual gallery, which as you tour its futuristic passageways, your attention is drawn to the unknown that awaits; at once dystopic and its polar opposite - an opening onto radical change, renewal, rebirth. The exhibition opens to the public on 12 March with a live session with mixed media artist Tiffanie Delune in conversation with Financial Times journalist, Emma Jacobs discussing the possibility of reinvention through art.
