An arthrogram is an X-ray image or picture of the inside of a joint (e.g. shoulder, knee, wrist, ankle) after a contrast medium (sometimes referred to as a contrast agent or “dye”) is injected into the joint.

So I’m having an arthrogram on Friday in my hip(s?) and I’m bricking it despite having had them several times already but I’ve decided I might make a lil video about it so people who haven’t had one before and are going for one can see what it’s about because first time I went for one I had a break down because I was shit scared! What are peoples feelings on this?

I’m getting incredibly antsy as my arthrogram approaches.

I do not look forward to being in so much pain afterwards, like last time. (This one is for my left hip, the last was for my right hip). My follow up is next Friday, and I’ll be driving the hour and a half for that. I’m so anxious for all of this. Hopefully no more giant, obnoxious needles after this appointment, because while the procedure is less than painful, the recovery is a whole different level of hell. And with my hips already in considerable pain, all that added fluid is hell for the following day. *fingers crossed*
