I've had the absolute worst back pain for the last several hours. Which has been rather normal, but now I think I might actually be in labor.
Life without you is like a sunless garden || Alex and Arthur
It was fairly late, and as usual David being the first to rise had been the first to fall asleep. Alex had lain in the bed wide awake for what seemed like ages, wondering if perhaps Arthur was going to sleep anytime soon. Normally she might have fallen asleep but she had napped earlier and hadn't been tired enough. Eventually she got out of bed and crept quietly across the room so as not to disturb David.
She looked around the rest of the flat, but didn't see Arthur anywhere. For a brief moment she felt herself panic, fear gripping her tightly. Thankfully she very quickly realised that Arthur wasn't gone at all. The light on the deck was on and through the glass she could see that he was sitting on one of the reclining lounge chairs out on the deck. She exhaled a breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding. He was fine, she was fine, everything was good. She wondered how much time had to pass before things were going to be normal again, or if they ever would be the same again. Then again she didn't want them to be the same. Being the same meant that they weren't fine at all, and she wanted better for them. She was just sorry it had come at such a high price for them to all realise it.
She quietly padded into the kitchen and pulled down glasses from the cabinet, filling them with ice and then tea. She carried them over to the door and opened it quietly. There sat Arthur, book in hand and reading. The residual panic seeped away. It made her smile to see him like that, it was the way she defaulted to picturing him, reading. She wasn't sure if he was actually reading or just deep in thought, but either way he didn't appear to hear her.
Feeling the sudden need to touch him, she set the glasses onto the table and pulled the book from his hand, setting it onto the table as well. She nudged him over, ignoring the look of surprise on his face, and climbed into the lounge chair, tucking herself into his side. "I've missed you."
Tabula Rasa
Alex quietly opened the door to the flat but closed it again, just as quietly. She could hear both David and Arthur in the kitchen, but she wasn't sure what she would say to them had she entered. Instead she quietly made her way to one of the chairs on the deck and sat down, a look of sadness and slight confusion on her face. The whole exchange with Matthew had left her head spinning. She hadn't expected any of that, it left a knot in her throat and unshed tears in her eyes. Blinking them away she tucked her legs up onto the chair and stared out at the beach, watching the distant waves from where she sat.
arthurapparently replied to your post: I’m sorry for how abruptly I left, Alex. I want you to know, for what it’s worth. I love you and I always will.
I’m going to tell you the same thing I told David. I promise, I’m never going to hurt you again.
I know you mean well sweetie, but what hurts right now is all of the indecision. You said you needed space, but if you need me I'l right here, but if you really want space please take it. Just please make up your mind, I don't think I can keep doing this.
I'm sorry for how abruptly I left, Alex. I want you to know, for what it's worth. I love you and I always will.
I can't do this again today. I - I said I wasn't going to cry again and here I am...
I love you too, for whatever that's worth now.
Hello, 'Lex. I've been thinking, maybe it might be a good idea if we took a break. You and David need to figure out your new dynamic...without me. At this point I'd only just get in the way. *smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes* Don't worry, I'll still be around. Can't get rid of me that easily. *forced chuckle* But, you and he need to work on how to be a two person marriage. That's something I'm just not part of...I've moved out, but I'm still here for you. I love you, Alex. Be well.
arthurapparently replied to your post: I’m sorry…you baked him a cake? You baked the man who fucked our husband when he was half out of his head, a birthday cake? Have I missed something here? Is it opposite day?
I feel like I’m in a mad house right now. You’re baking him a cake and David is asking us for permission to fuck him…you know, for his birthday. Is this having control?
What would you rather? That I'd thrown a cake at him? I can't control David sweetie. I can control David, or John, or you, or the fucking tide! But I can choose to not hate him. It's just a cake, I didn't write, "Happy Birthday please fuck my husband at your leisure." on the top of it! It's not as if I'm tying a bow around David's cock and shoving him out the door you know.
