Art Basel 2017: Eduard Ben Avram (B.Avram) is an Indian born artist raised in Jerusalem, where he still resides and works. I absolutely love his pieces and while his coloring and texture remind me a tad of Roualt, his propensity towards using circular shapes to portray his figures made me think of post-impressionist painter Maurice Prendergast. I had a lot of fun at basel looking at our contemporay artworks through the lense of our artistic past.Through the faint echoes of the works by made by modernist masters, we can trace how art has progressed in the past century.
