When it comes to DC shipping, I'm an absolute forever fan of wonderbat and I love to make fanart on that theme, but I found susiecarter's DCEU fanfics really fascinating and I wanted to do an illustration for one of her works one day, while drawing my usual pictures, so here it is. It was a lot of fun to draw Bruce with his set hair, fake mustache and horrible suit as befits Matches Malone.

Time passes and with it tiny grains of what we were slip through our fingers. I often wonder if the days seem as interminable to you as they have to me. If my name brings about a saudade feeling. Lately I've been doing so little to guard against the invasion of your memory. These walls were always meant to come down by your hand. I'm sure you would call this healing..

why does healing have to be so dire; why does hope sting? I can still endure the memory of a fistful of life, I can welcome death, but I can't stand the thought of you still believing behind your faithless dread; please make me distrust you some more, free me from you.

The longing is palpable across this great divide, and although I haven't let go, doesn't mean I won't. Godless I may be, but not heartless. I'll cut these chains tonight and free you. Someday i hope to understand why fire has to devour everything in it's path in order to stay alive...
