Art Journal update~
Hi all and whoever may be reading this, just a quick update on where I’ve been and what’s ongoing. As you may have gathered this is a very informal blog and I’m just going to post whatever might be partially relevant.
I’ve been busy raising funds for my beloved 20x24 inch fibre glossy ilford darkroom paper which I’m going to be using in an upcoming 2017 london exhibition which should be announced in the coming months, but until then I’m unable to divulge specifics regarding that project which is frustrating to say the least. Still I’m very excited to be part of it and I can’t wait to share the work :)
At the same time I’ve been offered and accepted the position of visiting lecturer at my university I’ve just graduated from, giving day workshops in darkroom processes and alternative chemical processes which has been an absolutely brilliant experience so far and I’m looking forward to the next time I’m called in.
So yeah, inbetween when I’m simultaneously working bi-wheneverly at the university and at my never ending soul destroying dead end rent fuelling jobs, I’m looking at exploring other media or getting some other photographic projects going to push me to generate work daily and re-immerse myself in the work ethic I had going just months back in university.....before the postgraduate life, financial woes and all the unexpected shennanigans that comes with it, forcing me to focus on meeting rent and learning how to be a normal functional adult whilst trying to nuture some creativity. Its been a really tough few months settling into post university life but it looks like things are finally settling and only going to get better from here on out :)
Hello world
Hi everyone, I’ve created this blog to document the ongoing developments in my arts practice and upcoming exhibitions.
I’m a British arts photographer fresh out of university working primarily with film and traditional photographic processes and tumblr seems like a great way to get my thoughts and developments out there.
I absolutely love getting involved with other practitioners from all kinds of disciplines, discussing other people’s arts projects and contributing to ongoing works.
So if you need any feedback, want to vent or just need someone to bounce ideas off of, just drop me a message :)
ascensus.
as one of my first big design projects, i did layouts for my med school’s Journal of Humanities. yay!
