Explore London

I was lucky enough in my childhood to spend a good deal of time traveling with my family throughout the UK and Europe, walking cities end to cities end through countless museums, galleries, and estates. Tirelessly, we were out to see it all and my teenage and young adult life greatly benefitted from those experiences. And that exploration ferver never dwindled to anything less than a roaring and raging fire in my heart. Now that I am reaching the end of my ArtSpotter internship and the end of my first solo trip of a significant length of time, I find myself reflecting on not only my 3 months in London, but on my childhood exploring and everything I still intend to see.

This week I have compiled a collection of my favorite tried and true locations around the city, galleries introduced to me by ArtSpotter, and of course things I'm still anxious to see. From the Serpentine Gallery in Kensington Gardens (a gallery right in the heart of my all time favorite place in the world) to my first gallery interview at the Camden Arts Centre, Art Catlin and my first art awards reception, to the British Museum one of the first significant museums of my childhood, and to the Wimbledon Space near my South London home...here is an idea of what I've been up to. I cannot wait to be back.

Sydney is a rich art hub, offering lots to see by way of contemporary and modern galleries, while also supporting aboriginal culture and art. The Aboriginal & Pacific Art Gallery works with art centres and advisors to select and present work by contemporary aboriginal artists from around Australia. And if a metaphysical orchestration of colour is what you’re looking for this week, Olsen Irwin Gallery currently has an exhibition of brightly coloured Michael Johnson. No matter what you’re searching or meandering the city for, Sydney has a lot to offer, but many of these exhibitions are reaching their final week so get out there and get spotting!
