After a brief hiatus due to sending off my eldest to kindergarten and unplanned trips to the sea, I'm finally back in business with my drawing! Here's another to add to my #artthislili series submitted by @alyciagrayce . I just loved the contrast and mystiness of the shot, and the water offered a interesting challenge. Plus this picture is set in my home turf of Salt Lake! I've been needing an excuse to do some environmental studies and @bluebirdpicturesaf provided the perfect photo for my #artthislili series. I need more practice, especially because these are so fun to test out all my brushes. Anyway, the real photo is even more dreamy than depicted here, you should go check it out. My sister-in-law @emmas_parlour and bestie @laciejliu were apparently having the big fun without me :( but I suppose that's the price you pay when moving cross country. Sigh. Anyway, they submitted some hilarious shots for #artthislili of hairstylist Emma in some super hero poses while draped in her cape. Points to whomever comes up with the best name for her! This drawing turned out very closely to how I imagined it, which is very rare. Loved this suggestion from @andypaulos for my #artthislili series. I actually have an irrational fear of wild mushrooms, but they certainly a delight to draw.
