This is Rocamadour on a warm autumn morning, famous as one of the largest pilgrimage sites in Europe "Santiago de Compostella". When you stand on the other side of the valley and look across, you can't help but wonder how they managed to build this civilisation into the side of a cliff face. Some amazing architecture, considering it has been standing for centuries! There is a large church and castle, which you can have a guided tour or explore on your own; remakes of historical battles including horses and knights; plenty of quirky shops where you can find many gifts for family and friends, some beautiful restaurants and shops where you can experience the local cuisine of confit duck, "Rocamadour cheese" and foie gras.
