LAS 3 MORENAS | STEP by STEP
Here a quick step by step of how I created these girls. I’ll make the example just with the middle one as it is the same thinking behind for each of them.
1| ROUGH SKETCH: As you can see I rough a lot of lines and try a few times the pose until I get to a point I am happy with. I explore as much as I can. In this case I pretty much got locked the middle girl on the first try but then on the two girls beside I did try a few poses out. I needed the girl on screen right to be walking with her left leg in front so I could have her right arm in front and cutting the silhouette of the middle girl... if that make sense.
2| 3| 4| BASE SHAPE FOR CLIPPING MASK: For this illustration I used Clipping Masks in Photoshop. Nothing that complicated. I created the main shape for her as you can see in image 2. I used two tones for it, a purple and a brown for her skin. After this on image 3 I start painting the cloth in order to then get the shadows on image 4. There is no big thinking behind the shadows tho. Just a simple like and dark contrast nothing super realistic.
5| PHOTOSHOP FILE: you guys can see a screenshot of my PSD file in which I highlighted the Base Shape and all the layers above it are the clipping masks. I normally try to label my layer in order to control them properly if any change is needed. I hope this was somehow helpful.
