New Shop Location!

Seeing as I’m no longer adding listings on Etsy and will be allowing current listings to expire I decided to open a shop elsewhere.

I’m adding current Etsy listings, as well as a few things I didn’t place there or have otherwise expired.

This is so exciting!  A new place for new work!  It’s run by people who used to sell on Etsy and eBay but got tired of the nonsense and lack of sales for creators.  Etsy has hiked up prices, searches are useless, and a lot of what you find there is mass-manufactured

Oh, I searched the keyword “quilt” and there was virtually nothing.  I have a feeling I shall soon be the primary quilt seller there.  No complaints from me!

This textured multi color super scarf is approximately 101inches long, including the fringe. Theself striping scarf of Autumn/Fall brown and bluehues, will make a nice accessory. The length allows you to wrap this multiple times to keep you warm. This is made with bulky yarn that is very soft.

Here’s my ArtYah shop. It’s pretty different from Etsy when it comes to layout and such, but I still offer the same items. These items aren’t on my Etsy yet, but if they don’t sell here, I’ll probably transfer them over after they expire and try something else.

I’m considering moving my work back my Etsy shop.  I never closed my Etsy shop, I simply stopped listing things there.

Artyah requires buyers have an account, and it takes a few days for an account to be approved.  It also doesn’t have a coupon code option.  But it does have Etsy’s original listing price (10 cents/listing) and no fees from transactions.  It’s also not saturated with copycats like Etsy.

However...I’m getting very few views and not selling very well there. 

I’m more familiar with Etsy prior to the big changes they made just months ago.  I had frequent buyers, regular customers, and you don’t need an account to purchase anything.  What killed it for me was Etsy taking a 10% cut from my sales, even charging me a fee on shipping though they have no involvement with shipping.  It doesn’t matter if you use them to print the shipping label or not, you’re still charged. 

I’ve checked into Storenvy.  It doesn’t look like it’ll be a good fit for me nor the work I do.  After looking through just the quilts I know nothing of mine will sell.  The most expensive I saw was $300 for a QUEEN size quilt.  That will kill any hope of selling my work.
