26: Something that will never fail to get you horny? ((Arvalin (MU), Arvalin (AU), Traejan, Tahlran)

Arvalin looked a little shy, but composed enough. “Wow.. alright. Well, it isn’t something I think about a lot. But.. mm.. there are plenty of attractive people about, of course. And if I were with someone.. then that would be appropriate..” He cleared his throat. “Given the right person.. and there’s plenty of attractive things to wear. Or.. not.. wear. At the right time and place and all that..”

Traejan chuckled. “I like beautiful things. That’s known. Everyone knows my reputation..” He looked quite proud of himself. “But more specifically, I buy Vittani beautiful dresses knowing they’ll only be worn once. Or sometimes we’ll play a little game only the two of us know about.. likely at the most inappropriate times..” He tapped a finger against his temple, implying that was something they could share purely through their 'link’. “It’s very effective.”

Tahlran looked unused to having these kinds of questions posed to him, but settled soon enough. “Mm.. well.. who I’m with now? Tends not to wear shirts very often. And you might think after awhile you’d get desensitised to that sort of things but.. no. No, it still manages to be appealing, especially during training or sparring or working or.. just about anything that allows a person to show off what they have. And sometimes I can get very caught up in my work..” He smiled. “... But I can be convinced to save it for later..”

Once again, Arvalin looked like he might die. Or combust. His expression plainly said why this. “When you don’t expect to see a person.. um.. dressed in certain ways.. that can be.. exciting. I guess. Er.. I mean.. it is! Of course it is! I like it when someone dresses well.. and.. shows things off that maybe they ordinarily wouldn’t..”

Guilty Pleasures: Canon!Arvalin is a pretty simple guy with simple pleasures and really enjoys rare occasions of sleeping in and when he gets invited to family dinners. Technically he is family, though quite distantly, but being invited to sit with the family and be served as a guest rather than the one doing the serving is a nice change of pace.Phobias: Horrible engineering accidents (he learned all the gory details from Traejan, of course).What They Would Be Famous For: Coming up with new and different recipes. He takes pride in his ability to cook all the things.What They Would Get Arrested For: Arvalin is a fine, upstanding citizen of course! (He would only be guilty by association, should that day ever come)OC You Ship Them With: He doesn’t get out much, so he doesn’t meet very many people. I wouldn’t say I ship him with Rosefica, but he definitely has a crush. A very debilitating crush.OC Most Likely To Murder Them: I doubt anyone would.. in seriousness? He’s a nice guy! :3Favorite Movie/Book Genre: Adventure/War Stories. He hates fighting in them and the reality of them but he enjoys a good story where there is honour and chivalry and heroes and everything has a happy ending.Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: Characters who fake their death and come back at the end inexplicably.Talents and/or Powers: Excellent cook, part-time nanny, average Light-based healerWhy Someone Might Love Them: Kind, generous nature. Considerate of others and willing to put himself out to help others or defend them.Why Someone Might Hate Them: Appears weak because he so often will defer to others, which can be annoying to some. Others might just dislike him by association, given who he works for/is related to.How They Change: Arvalin’s been able to actually grow into a stronger person who is more sure of himself. He used to be really unsure of things, especially before he started his current job, but since he has been in charge of the managing of one half of an entire household he has learned to trust his own judgment and ability to have others work under him as he delegates tasks with confidence. Being able to help take care of the children as well has helped him simply because he’s happier since he quite enjoys it and since he figures he’ll never have children of his own he feels like he can still enjoy the family experience.Why You Love Them: He’s quite different than most of my characters. Let’s be real, I play a lot of douchey assholes so to play a nice guy is different for me eheheh. He’s a nice, fluffy ray of sunshine in the midst of all that and helps add to a scene.

And so for AU!Arvalin..

Guilty Pleasures: Sweets. He keeps it to himself (especially since certain people might have an opinion) but he does devote a certain portion of his pay to shopping around for fancy desserts. The fanciest, most unreasonably expensive desserts money can by for no other reason than it makes him happy and he pays for them himself. Traejan could probably provide for them but somehow that would diminish why it’s good and special.Phobias: The Plague. Not so much the undead themselves, but the concept of contracting the Plague and living out the rest of what life he’d have left with that knowledge that he would die and rise again as a mindless ghoul. What They Would Be Famous For: Arvalin is a highly skilled herbalist and can make medicines as well as poisons.What They Would Get Arrested For: Accomplice to murder, theft, and probably a long list of other crimes that he personally didn’t commit but still had a hand in indirectly.OC You Ship Them With: Rosearnica Riverglint. And they are the cutest fluffiest most adorable nerds ever.OC Most Likely To Murder Them: Depends? He hasn’t that much contact with OCs. It’s likely that he would have the same enemies as Traejan though and anyone wanting to get at Traejan indirectly could pursue him.Favorite Movie/Book Genre: Historical Drama, especially non-Sin’dorei cultures. It’s a wide world and he’s curious to know as much as he can about all of it.Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: When a character is reduced to nothing but a plot device via becoming nothing more than The Love Interest.Talents and/or Powers: Herbalist/Alchemist, Rogue skillz.Why Someone Might Love Them: Despite the work that he does (and who he works for) he is actually a very kind-hearted person. Which would make one wonder why he does the work that he does, but a lot of that has to do with loyalties. Why Someone Might Hate Them: He can be stubborn about some things but at other times seem very indecisive and weak-willed, which can be an aggravating combination. The qualities that some might find good and respectable others will probably find annoying.How They Change: He’s changed a lot since meeting Arnica and Vittani. Naturally, moreso thanks to the former. It isn’t that he was unhappy before, it was simply that he had less reason to want to venture outside of the little box he’d been living his life in. He’s used to being an assistant or a servant and so he is accustomed to being in a position where his job would be to make someone else more comfortable. It also affected his idea of relationships, since his only one thus far wasn’t exactly the norm.Why You Love Them: He’s so different from his canon!verse version and just fun in general to play. I enjoy the entire unfortunate triangle that is Arvalin, Arnica, and Traejan. It is the best/worst.

6! Arvalin

Definitely the fact that he is painfully shy and nervous about things and constantly second guessing himself. He is not very good at taking initiative in personal relationships and it has the potential to make people wonder if he actually cares or is at all invested in the relationship. He is and he genuinely enjoys the time spent when it’s right he just doesn’t now how to show it and handle giving and receiving affection. He’d prefer bringing a gift or sending a card. It’s not very sexy

Jaded: Traejan, Arvalin, Tahlran.

Traejan: “I didn’t used to. I always thought that was a silly notion and something reserved for fictional romances. But of course in those days I wasn’t looking for anything to last forever either. It was lucky if it would last the week. Even when things became more long term I never had any intentions of marrying or really talking in terms of forever, whatever forever constitutes. But things changed and If there was ever a time to believe that it would be right now.”

Arvalin: “I like to think that’s possible if you meet the right person. And by that I don’t mean that like there’s only one right person for any of us. That’s a lovely idea if you’re actually with someone and everything feels perfect but if you’re on your own there is really no idea more depressing than that. One person? It’s like being asked to find a needle in a stack of needles. But I think if you meet one of several people that would be right to spend your life with you could definitely live happily ever after, sure.”

Tahlran: “No, I don’t really believe in any of that at all. Maybe, maybe the shorter lived races could manage it but what happens if you’re a century or two into something and you’ve officially run out of new things to do or learn about that person?  You’re going to get bored and feel tied down and start resenting them. Then you’re going to feel even worse because it’s destroying a century or two of decent memories. I don’t want that to happen. I don’t want to get bored of someone. So I don’t let it last longer than a decade. Maybe I arrived at this because of the way I live my life where ”forever” is a bit of an uncertain figure for me, but that’s just how it is.”

The Sun, The Devil: Arvalin

"I remember the first time we ever got to go to the beach. We lived in the City and my parents were very busy so time for things like that was really pretty rare. It was a very pretty day and warm. Good thing too because the currents coming down from the north made the water pretty cold. We had a picnic and we built things in the sand and I remember my sister kept complaining that her food was gritty. My sister complained a lot at that age. I miss those times. I can go to the beach and anywhere else now but I miss when we felt like the City gates were the edge of our world and everything was brand new and amazing. We felt closer then."

Arvalin, Spectre

Lord Lightrend’s behaviour of late had surprised Arvalin, who had never anticipated the man would show any regard for what had happened at all. With unexpected generosity Traejan had given Arvalin a gift of his own time, without the burden of work or his noble problems to trouble him. Some might have said that ought to be a given but anyone that knew his lord and understood how much he relied on his assistant would realize the significance of such a gesture.

 He had changed the flowers at Rosearnica’s grave earlier that day, apologizing for the fact that he had brought her roses. It felt so terribly cliche. You should have picked up a book on the language of flowers, Arvalin, he thought. He might have found something more exotic.

 But sometimes simple and traditional could be nice. And the meaning was there, that’s all that really mattered.

 He went to Little Fish and ordered the salad they so often shared. He sat at their same table, on his same side that faced the door. When they brought his meal out the waitress gave him a sad smile and refused to charge him. He ate with his fork in his right hand as always, the left sitting palm upturned on the table. A few times he thought he felt the brush of fingers against his skin but knew he must have been imagining things.

 On the walk home he thought he felt a touch on his shoulder and it reminded him of the times she would lean her head against him.

 In his room at one point it felt like a warm breath against his forehead, disturbing the stray hairs that fell into his eyes and he could only think of her attempts to get his hair into some sort of manageable state.

 It was a temporary insanity, he assured himself. It hadn’t been long and he missed her terribly. When it got better the weird feelings would stop on their own. She was somewhere else, somewhere beautiful, certainly not in his gloomy bedroom. The feeling of arms around him was undoubtedly stress playing tricks on his mind, but even so he fell asleep that night feeling not so lonely..
