Day 572,318: I can’t stop thinking about them
The first part of The Window is up!
“Do you think the house will be on the other side as well?” Podrick asked while he positioned the machine in the middle of the room.
“I hope so, but we need to be prepared to find something else. Maybe a different building or no building at all. As long as it’s not a decomposing body, we’re fine.”
“Haha, he’s funny.” Podrick’s voice faked seriousness, but they laughed. Humour often helped them to keep the stress at bay.
“I think we’re ready,” Gendry announced, finishing the last round of diagnostics. “Let’s try configuration A first, just to take a peek and see if it’s working well.” Gendry was trying to repress the anxiety he was feeling, but Podrick could see it, probably because he was feeling the same way.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
It's been a while but I hope you like it.
Second and final part on Sunday!
I’m happy to announce that I’ll be hosting Book Gendrya Week from the 5th to the 12th of August 2024. Like with last year’s month this event is for their book relationship, plotlines and the characters themselves. I want to thank my contributors who helped with prompts: @laurellerual & @daceytheshebear. I hope you all will enjoy making gifs, fanfics, meta’s, art, etc. I would ask people participating to not use the show actors.
Please use #bookgendryaweek2024tag so I can find your work :)

Have you truly lived until you cried over a fic.
After several nasty reviews from his last book, Gendry's ego is bruised and he is beginning to wonder if he's lost his touch. Determined to meet his deadline, he books a week in an isolated cabin for the holidays.
Arya has no intention of spending the week under her family's microscope. She hasn't mustered up the courage to tell them she quit the very job they got for her. What she needs is a little R&R in a cozy little cabin in the woods.
What neither expected was sharing with a total stranger when the company double-books. With no other vacancies, the couple stubbornly refuses to give up either of their spots. Besides, it was only one week. What could go wrong?
Gendrya Prompts
I really wish I had the energy to write all the fanfic that goes on in my head. Since I don’t, here’s some Gendrya prompts for any who are interested. Sorry they are long, do with them as you will: 1) Season 5 Canon Divergence: Arya is reunited with Gendry in Saltpans he’s been hiding before she can get on the ship to Braavos. After escaping Dragonstone, Gendry had gone to King’s Landing, but decided he didn’t want to smith for the Lannisters, so he left and has been in Saltpans for a few months, selling weapons to travels and sailors. He’d thought her dead when he heard of the Red Wedding and convinces Arya to stay with him, saying she’s been running so long she deserves to rest. If she changes her mind one day, she still has her coin to get on a one of the Braavosi ships that dock occassionally. Arya and Gendry settle in a nice routine, where she works for an herbalist in the town and he smiths, sharing a room above his shop Their feelings develop further, and there’s the usually bedsharing awkwardness and some Jealous!Arya and Jealous!Gendry thrown in her and there. 2). Arranged Marriage AU: Gendry is an acknowledged bastard, and his father’s favorite child; he is brought on the trip by the King to Winterfell. Robert notices Gendry lights up around Arya, and wants his son to be happy, so gets Ned to agree to have Arya and Gendry marry, in addition to the more official union of houses via Sansa and Joffrey’s betrothal. Marriage can either be at Winterfell before they go to King’s Landing or after. Arya likes Gendry, but doesn’t really understand her feelings of attraction to him at first and the marriage isn’t consummated, much to Robert’s annoyance. This leads to Joffrey saying something nasty to Gendry, and Gendry nearly hitting Joffrey. Robert and Ned then send Arya and Gendry to Storm’s End. They enjoy their time there, being free from the constraints of court and their families, and their love blossoms. But then they learn of Robert’s death and Ned’s execution, and must determine what their next step must be - especially as they find out Arya is expecting.
3) Season 7 Canon Divergence: Jon, King in the North, and Sansa, Lady of Winterfell, are shocked and overjoyed when Arya returns home. But they aren’t how to react to who she brings with - the bastard blacksmith she shares her bed with, and who she says she has no intention of marrying. Jon is more open, especially on learning of that Gendry is Robert’s bastard and had had a run-in with the Red Witch, while Sansa worries about how the Northern and Vale Lords will react, and Arya for her part is not happy to hear or Sansa’s alliance with Littlefinger - or her part in the Battle of the Bastards. When Jon is set to meet Queen Daenerys to get dragonglass for the Great War, Gendry volunteers to go with, to Arya’s anger.
Will you stay with me, my love?
