Summary: Sam had largely given up on having a relationship. The life of a hunter didn’t lend itself to romance, and the few partners he’d had had always pushed for more than he wanted to give. So it was bittersweet to realize that he was developing a crush on Ruby, while working a case together. But when she hits on him and he comes out to her as asexual, Sam soon finds acceptance in one of the most unlikely of people. Now all that’s left is to learn to accept himself, figure out what intimacy means to them… and stop a mysterious killer that’s leaving a trail of exsanguinated bodies.

Author Notes: I think my favorite thing to write is a story that explores issues of personal acceptance and self-worth. I love trying to take relatable human struggles, place them within a fantastic context, and ideally give recognition and/or a happy ending. So working on a fic featuring an asexual romance was a delightful challenge.

Also, I really enjoyed exploring this iteration of Sam/Ruby. I’ve seen a fair number of fics conveying Ruby as little more than an aggressively sexual entity and manipulator (admittedly not inconsistent with canon), so it was an extra treat for me to work against that archetype.

Castiel wants to care for Sam and meet his needs as best as he can. Giving orders doesn’t give him a head-trip; seeing Sam happy and relaxed after does. Sam craves a sliver of control over his life and the praise Cas gives him fulfills that need when he completes the simple tasks the angel asks him to do. 

Their favorite activity is Sam kneeling on a cushion on the floor, head pillowed on Cas’s lap as Cas reads a book and strokes Sam’s hair. All Sam has to do is stay still and listen to the quiet praise Castiel showers him with.

Original Prompt: Okay, so Sam and Gabriel 69 style…blowing raspberries into each other’s tummy. The first one it scream for mercy loses. The two who arguably have the most tickling tummies in the world, and are both pretty stubborn.

A/N: Just saying, THERE IS NO SMUT :)

Sam swallowed nervously, playing with the hem of his shirt. He only had that and a pair of boxers on which didn’t leave much to imagine. He glanced up with the bathroom door opened and Gabriel appeared wearing just some moxies and a towel ruffling his wet hair. The Archangel loved taking showers the human way because it relaxes him.

“You look like you’re about to pass out,” Gabriel noted, climbing into the bed and knocking their shoulders together. “If you don’t wanna do it, we don’t have to.”

Sam sighed because no that’s not what he wants. It took a lot of courage for Sam to tell Gabriel that he had a kink for ticking. It took even more for Sam to admit that it wasnt a sexual kink. He doesn’t get that kind of reaction out of anything! Sam honestly couldn’t care about sex and doesn’t understand why Dean always makes such a big deal about it. But tickling was special to Sam because that was his intimate. And Sam wants to share it with Gabe. So no, he did it want to back out, he was just nervous because he never thought he’d get to where he was.

“No, I-I want to do this,” Sam said firmly. “I’m just nervous.”

Gabriel gently dragged Sam back on the bed and slowly stripped Sam’s shirt off. He pressed a gentle kiss on Sam’s belly, smirking at the immediate flinch. Gabe quickly took his shirt off and climbed on top of Sam until his belly was directly above Sam’s lips and Sam’s tum was in front of Gabriel.

“Okay kiddo, I’ll count to three. First one who asks for mercy gets wrecked completely for an hour.”

Sam blushed even though determination drive through him.

“One…Two…Three,” Gabriel shouted, quickly leaning down and blowing a huge raspberry on Sam’s belly.

Sam shrieked, not having the time to get Gabriel when another one was placed right on Sam’s belly button. Sam giggled adorably at the tickles, taking a deep breath and clutching Gabriel’s waist, placing a huge raspberry on the pudgy tummy.

Gabriel squealed, giving Sam the time to litter dozens of raspberries. Gabriel was quickly in hysterics but also placed down his raspberries when he could. The two were a laughing bundle of tickles and giggles.

“AHAHAHA GAHAHABE!” Sam squawked as Gabriel got a raspberry on Sam’s side, right above his hip. It was a super sensitive area and Gabriel damn well knew it too.

“S-SahahahammEHEHEHE!” Gabriel cried out when Sam attacked his lower belly. He couldn’t handle normal tickles there. “THAHAHAT TIHIHICKLES!”

“Thahahats the POHOHOINT!”

Gabriel cheated a little and nibbled along Sam’s waist line and Sam cheated by digging into Gabe’s sides. Both were determined to win though and were ready to wreck the other any chance they got.

“AHHHH NOHOHOT THEHEHEHERE!”

“EHEHEH DOHOHONT NIHIHIBBLE AHAHAHAHA!”

Unfortunately, there could only be one winner.

Happy (so late) Sastiel Saturday!

Their first date hadn’t gone exactly as expected; Castiel’s car broke down on the way, so they had to wait until the tow truck got to them. They did, however, have a great talk on the grass. Cas even went as far as to kiss Sam to shut him up when they were making dirty jokes.

The rest of the date was good, and even better since Sam couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss. Even though they’d been friends for seven years, it was an extraordinary feeling of happiness. There only seemed to be one problem: Sam was asexual. And all relationships needed sex to work out, right?

Castiel was holding Sam on Sam’s bed as they watched Netflix. Between episodes, they would make out for a minute or so. It wasn’t until later that night that Cas noticed something.

“Sam, why do you seem to pull away after every episode?” Cas asked, backing his head up so he could look Sam in the eye.

“I’m not! I just…” He couldn’t really explain why he didn’t want to make out. Quick kisses were good, but making our seemed like a little much. Maybe he had really figured out how far he was willing to go in a relationship. “I’m not sure how comfortable I am… I don’t want to seem weird, I just-”

He was cut off by Castiel taking hold of Sam’s hands and putting his face on Sam’s hair. “You don’t want to kiss anymore?”

“No! I mean yes, I do. But not like this.”

“I thought that’s what couples did, Sam. They kissed for long periods of time.”

“I don’t really want that right now. And maybe not…” He looked at Castiel’s face and looked pained. “…not ever.”

“Ahhhh, that would explain more-”

“But I still want to kiss you and I want you to hold me! I just don’t want anything more right now.”

“I don’t really want anything more either. I thought that’s what humans really wanted, though.”

“Not all of them-” Cas quickly pecked Sam on the lips. “Like that was nice.”

“So… We can just stay like this and say we’re good?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

Everyone's always surprised when they find out Sam is asexual because he has a boyfriend and doesn't keep his hands off in public at all- Sam is constantly rubbing Gabriel's back, touching his hair, kissing his lips, cheek, or neck, and cuddling him~

OH GOD, BUT THIS IS AMAZING AND MAKES ME THINK OF @greymichaela AND THE AMAZING COFFEE CAKE AND BEIGNETS VERSE, BECAUSE IT’S PERFECT AND SO FUCKING TRUE AND AMAZING.  

Okay, okay, so I love the idea of how that conversation would go.  Because I can see Sam being so very tactile as a person, and wanting to be hugging and kissing Gabriel all of the time.  

So when he tells people that he’s asexual, he already sees the confused looks.  And if Gabriel’s there (and he usually is), he’s the one who jumps in and explains just because someone doesn’t like sex doesn’t mean they don’t like everything else that goes along with a relationship.  

Which still gets him blank looks, and later, when people ask him if he can really deal without having sex, Gabriel has to try not to snap (when it’s an innocent, confused question), or DOES snap (when it’s a WTF dude question), at the person that that doesn’t matter to him in the slightest, and that what he really wants is the relationship with Sam, and that is the most important thing.  

Suffice to say, Gabriel never regrets going out with Sam for a second, no matter how many people ask him stupid questions about his relationship and Sam’s sexuality.
