I really enjoyed Predator Badlands. Such a refreshing film that breaks the cycle and just finally makes a predator a protag this time. It really brought a lot of heart and just a fantastic fun film. I adored these two.

Okay, I squeezed another and wanted to play with the mountain bois. Fun fact: if you don't know, feathers are actually soft scales. Birds are "reptiles" but warm-blooded, and also in their own category both serving as birds but reptiles. Then of course they share a lot of common traits with reptiles and also descendants of dinosaurs.

Yautja are under the umbrella of reptiles but I thought let's just play with that and given these guys live in colder climates and add a penguin like fur quality on their dorsal sides. They will still don pelts and the like for harsher times. I also imagine them having a blubber like layer too for insulation.

Was playing around while animal sitting and decided to indulge myself with yautja designs for funsies.

After I got work done I wanted to play around with these guys again. Not sure if I'm set on the mountain guy's palette just yet. Was looking at Harbor/Spotted Seals for ideas. Might play around with other arctic dwelling animal palettes.

Ocean guys are barrel/olympic swimmer chested so larger lungs/longer chested and also wider forearms with some webbing between fingers and toes. They aren't living in the ocean, but really good swimmers.

Long Haired ones I'm thinking could fit in lots of places. Thought about tropical areas or open areas. They are on a pendulum in my brain of where I'm wanting to situate them.

Sadly, no Yautja art tonight. I have to work on comms and be responsible. I'm trying to make a reward system for myself XDD

Side note: I'm starting to rope @cold-neon-ocean in with my mountain guy. ...and we were talking about tongues.

The ideas in my head so far that I wanna drop. THERE'S SO MANY.

Also I will acknowledge lot of my ideas either will match/remind/trend with something already said and done and sometimes it's just simply it works or it makes sense in my brain. You share a similar idea then let's talk! I love finding same wavelength folks and just getting excited about stuff like that. Also pitch in biologiy facts or tidbits. I'm all ears that'll just add to my thoughts. I also just wanna be sure I at least make mine unique enough without being the same as another, which is probably near impossible.

Also, ranting here, it's a fictional alien race. If you come and complain then I'm just gunna ignore but my advice is "Make your own" or "don't like then move on." I don't care about your rule-thumping in my comments or DMs either of what makes a Yautja or Yautja clan. I KNOW WHAT THEY ARE. THEY'RE GUIDELINES. Sorry for the rant. But it's like this in most fandoms anyways.

There's always going to be the good, the bad, and the ugly with certain people in any fandom who just feel entitled to spread hate or harass others with things they may not like. I don't tolerate it nor care for it and tend to stay out of them. I will block rude people instantly. It's not worth my time or effort to feel bad because someone wants me to feel bad for indulging on made up aliens. So I'll move on.

Plus lot of the rule thumping yautja fans, not all or most, but the ones who usually complain the most are usually limited to what they have seen in media rather than doing the deep dives in comics and novellas that are out and have been for years. They are a very diverse race just like any other made up race but also adaptable. Each clan is different with different rules/codes/rituals/lifestyles and so on that most don't conform to the original rule-like-commandments. The rules are guidelines and can be expanded upon just like the yautja race as well.

So if I wanna make a four-armed yautja, damn right I will. If I wanna make a Yautja with a tail and more monstrous look because it wanted to augment itself for ritualistic reasons or for personal reasons, whether for beauty and/or strength boosting, then I will. If I want to give one a feathered mane instead of dreadlocks, then I will. If I want to make a Yautja gay or queer or intersex, then I fucking will. Don't come knocking at my door with the uhm acshhhhhuallllyyy speech.

Sorry for the TED talk but this goes the same for anyone who is in the fandom who love the franchise and contributing through art or writing. Go nuts. Have fun with them. Please.

So far with my crazy brain I'm having fun just brainstorming on mountain clans, swamplands, ocean, highlands/tropical/woodland, cave dwelling and some desert. Just some for every biome because the possibilities are endless. I also just want to add to the body diversity pool too. There's not enough besides typical muscle man look. Gimme twink, lean, thick, muscle gut, chunk, and more.

So far with mountain guys I think they are my biggest and bulkiest in terms of just size alone. They live in colder climates and are somewhat isolated from other tribes. They are capable of growing feather coats akin to penguins to help with the chill while also having a layer of blubber underneath their skin for insulation. They can swim but not as agile/adept as oceanic yautja can. Their larger tusks as well as jaws are very strong and capable of breaking and splintering bones. Their dreadlocks are also very thick but soft to the touch too. I'm thinking they also have mounts for mountain climbing that are carnivorous goat cats but also have large buffalo-moose like mounts too.

Ocean guys grow more blubber for insulation and maybe have some feathering. Not sure on the latter. They live around cliffs/shorelines/etc closest to the oceans. Also they are singers. As mentioned before they are skilled swimmers because they are built for it with broader/longer chests for larger lungs, some protrusions on their forearms and calves with some webbing between their fingers and toes makes them exceptional. Not sure if I wanna give them tails yet and I'm going back and forth if I want their crests to be crab-like or smoother. Also their mandibles were the hardest to design because I was looking at dozens of friggin crab mouth anatomy and wanted it more softer plating instead of skin. They are my toughest right now in design.

Woodlands are more owl faced with larger eyes, feathered hair and lither/leaner in appearance instead of heavy muscled. They are silent hunters just like owls are in flight. They probably have rituals of some sort revolving around silence or just in general amongst their clan. They also one of the smallest in my lineup right next to the cave dwellers. The woodland clan is probably around human height or just a smidge taller, but not a lot.

Any recommendations for chill avp/yautja/aliens discord servers that’s not swamped with hundreds of people? More creative focused perhaps or just in general chill and like-minded of easy going and supportive of people’s creative thinking and fun talking to about the fandom?
