Maurus, Chronicles of Narnia + a moodboard for every oc (118/?)
The word derives from the Latin term Maurus, first used by the Romans to denote an inhabitant of the Roman province of Mauretania, comprising the western portion of present-day Algeria and the northeastern portion of present-day Morocco.
Black people of North Africa
“This painting is thought to be a portrait of Ira Aldridge who was one of the first black actors to play Shakespeare (just a quick aside here: Ira Aldridge was forced to leave the segregated US and go to Europe in the 1800s so that he could actually have a career).”

Introducing... my very own Four Horsemen. These are my lovely boys: Batwing (Lower Left), Nightmare (Front Center), Holden (Lower Right), and Maurus a.k.a Dark Horse (Top). Y’all may have seen some of these boys before if you’ve seen my art in the past. They’re all shapeshifters, too! Nightmare’s signature ripped face has made its way on my blog before -wink- Oh yeah, and Happy Halloween! I feel like this spooky piece could make up for my late work I posted last year. I’m also really proud of myself for pushing this piece out. As y’all may know, this year has been extremely rough for me, so this is a big deal to me. (For funsies, Batwing would totally be Pestilence, Nightmare is War, Maurus is Death, & Holden is Famine) Anywho, hope y’all enjoy. Characters & artwork made by yours truly, SapphireWolf100.

My first ever original post! I hope you all like these boys!
They’re a group of best friends who all come from different kinds of shitty backgrounds and have found a family in each other.
My brother sent me a familiar-summoning meme on twitter, and this popped in my head. Danya still begrudges Maurus for killing Dimitri that one time.
