Sitting on History 🏰⚔️ Visiting castles makes me feel like I’ve stepped back in time for a short while. ⠀ ⠀ I've lost count of the times I visited Ashby (De La Zouch) Castle on school trips but I appreciate it so much more now. ⠀ ⠀ The property began as a manor house in the 12th century and reached castle status in the 15th century. As you can see it has suffered damage from the Civil War but it’s still incredibly beautiful and totally fascinating. I'll share more photos soon.⠀ ⠀ Ps - Look how long my leg is.
