what's genderflux ????? not trying to be offensive but i've only ever heard the term genderfluid. are they the same?

despite it being almost one in the morning, i just made an extra effort and whipped out my copy of @ashhardell’s abc’s of lgbt - just to make sure my mostly cis ass isn’t talking complete bullshit, but, alas, i remembered both definitions correctly.* :’)

basically, genderfluid refers to someone’s gender changing over time and/or depending on the situation etc, whereas genderflux refers to the intensity of one’s gender (or, to quote my nifty queer bible, experience with gender) changing over time etc.

(you’ve likely seen me use this combined with another gender identity (i. e. genderflux girl) because that’s how i would probably describe my gender outside of just being cis, which is how i would also describe it (oops). yeha. i’m a bit fond of the term genderflux. :) )

*also, just a reminder that people make identities, and books don’t. the abc’s of lgbt are simply a collection of how some people who claim certain identities would define / explain those identities. you do you, friend.

I now understand it as a fluent current between the spectrum, but also as a public identifier & a personal one: “I identify as…but within myself I’m….” ✨🌈💧🌊⭐️🌙💫

I can’t put into words how stunning it feels to be valid, to be myself & to have a name for what I feel & experiment everyday ✨🔮🔭🔬 .📖
