Coming out as trans can be confusing for the people in one's life who don't have much knowledge about transness. There will probably be a lot of assumptions being made about one's sexuality. The most common misconceptions are, that being trans is another form of sexuality, like being "level 10 gay". Or, if the person understands that sexuality and gender identity are different spectrums, many have heteronormative ideas of what sexuality one "should" have. "In order to be a ~real~ man/woman you should be heterosexual". The truth is that trans people, like all other people can have any sexual orientation. Being a non-hetero trans person is valid. There is no wrong was to be trans and to have a sexual orientation.
