Youngblood (dir. Hubert Davis) x WFF 2025.

Toronto-based, Saint Lucian-Canadian actor Ashton James stars as the eponymous junior hockey prospect in a more serious remake of the 1986 Rob Lowe cult sports movie. Reframed to focus on an overly aggressive Black player on his last chance, the underdog sports drama highlights its more realistic hockey action just as it keeps its story about chasing your dreams, however unlikely. However, its competitive plotline feels like relatively standard fare for contemporary audiences.
