Thanks for the tag @fiberpunk027
I should catch up on tags this evening. Sorry been editing dabb and getting art ready and stuff. But also lowkey working on stuff for @shadow-dragon-week. Maybe not get to everything I want to do but here's a snippet I been toying with.
In which Riley Mercar should learn to mind his own business. And stay out of Lena, Ashur, and Tarquin's business. I'm sure Gladius is laughing his ass off.
"You don't understand-"
But before Riley could continue, he felt a cold presence behind him. Like a shadow the woman in question appeared, all pointed smiles and deadly grace as her pale blue eyes caught his and held him enthralled. A viper in her own right, fingers playing along the daggers on her hip as if she would strike him with her fangs.
"And what don't we understand, Riley Mercar?" Lena asked as she approached him with measured steps. "If you would be so kind as to enlighten us all…"

In my game's canon it starts looking like all of Ashur's relationship are filled to the brim with divorce energy. 😭

The Dragon and the Crow - Chapter 8
“Do you really think you can take me?” Ashur murmured, his magic cracking around them as The Crow smiled coldly and finally drew his blade, twirling the throwing knife between his fingers. “Believe me, Demon, it will not be me who falls if it comes to a fight.”
To his surprise, Lucanis laughed, his posture infuriatingly relaxed. “What do you think will happen if you kill me?” he asked in a voice dripping with scorn. “Do you think Rook will come back to you, Black Divine? Do you think she'll have you back in her bed again?”
A chill slipped down Ashur's spine, and he wasn’t fast enough to hide the widening of his eyes. Somehow The Crow had discovered his true identity. Somehow the mage hunter knew who he really was. This was the situation he had always dreaded - it placed countless people in danger.
He had been unmasked.
Exposed.
“I don't think it's your business what we do,” Ashur said coldly, his eyes boring into the other man's, fighting not to show how rattled he truly was. “Rook is safer without you in her life. You can't deny it.”
Lucanis laughed again, this time bitterly, and his eyes flashed with purple as the demon lurked. “Ah, but it is my business - because if I kill you, it will break Rook's heart and I don't think she would ever forgive me. And if you kill me … what exactly is your plan? Will she be your mistress? A plaything you keep on the side-”
“Shut up!” He growled, but the Crow continued, each word another weapon, sharp as any blade and full of spite.
“Why? I doubt your highly esteemed family would accept a low born mage with open arms and allow her to sully their precious magical lineage. Are you going to walk away from your family? Walk away from being the Divine?” He stepped closer, still twirling the knife. “You can't be so naive that you believe you can offer her anything meaningful-”
“I love her!” Ashur yelled the words as something surged inside of him.
Something jealous and bitter
Something that pushed behind his eyes and snarled inside his mind...

Tell Me Tuesday
thank you @woundedsoul12 and @chaosherald for the tags!
Take a recently published work and break it down for me scene by scene
So technically this fic is from March but its suits my mood right now. Is It Really Victory If... is a Blighted Ashur/Grey Warden Rook soulmate au fic that takes place after Fire and Ice.
Right after they get back to the Lighthouse after killing the dragons, Neve mentions they should let the remaining Shadows know.
When they reached the Lighthouse isle, Rook stopped short of going through the Eluvian, staring at it for a long minute. When Neve realized Rook hadn’t followed her through, she stepped back out, frowning slightly at the Warden. “What is it?” “Someone should tell the Shadows about the dragons,” Rook murmured softly. “Wasn’t sure if it was something you’d want to tell them in person or send a missive. “It’s probably better coming from you since..” She gestured in the general direction of the island containing the Minrathous and Treviso Eluvians. Neve frowned, then said slowly, “I’d have to leave a message at a dead drop, but you can track Ashur. It may be better if you go.” “I suppose you’re right,” Rook admitted wearily. She reached out to grip Neve’s shoulder. “Do me a favor and try and get some actual sleep after you’ve gotten all the blight and mud off. You can’t help us or the Shadows if you collapse from exhaustion.”
"Rook." It sounded so wrong, sharpen and broke. The name—nickname— was sinking on the tongue as ashes. "Ashur."
