Three galaxies in Cetus (the Whale). In the upper right is the M 77, a barred spiral galaxy about 47 million light-years away. We are viewing it face-on and its faint arms can just barely be made out. Centre-left is NGC 1055, an edge-on spiral galaxy estimated to be 52 million lights years distant. The central dust lane can be clearly distinguished. Finally, almost directly below M 77 you can discern a small faint smudge. That is the barred spiral galaxy NGC 1072, currently calculated to be an astonishing 369 million light years away. #clayhausphotography #explorescientific #zwo #asi533mcpro #asiairpro #astrophotography #astronomy https://www.instagram.com/p/CW8bPn2BYgz/?utm_medium=tumblr
