It's a good thing I dressed in shrouds today because I feel like I got murdered.
(This "repricing" project is gonna be the death of me. I want to go home.)
....
On a lighter note, I'm also wondering. Did anyone else go from scoffing at monogrammed/personalized stuff to being super hype about it after burying their deadname? Because I fucking love initial charms and such now and I used to think it was so cringe, I need to know if I'm crazy xD
Earrings: Ask and Embla
Necklace: an unholy construct of ribbon, a vintage moonstone scorpion brooch, and an Ask and Embla "R" charm.
Top: vintage velvet and lace top (that may or may not have been part of a pyjama set)
Shrug: thrifted, no brand sheer kimono
Pants: Zara palazzo pants (a recent purchase, you can probably still get them)
Belt: Restyle cathedral cincher
book recommendation because i haven’t been able to post lately: Children of Ash and Elm by Neil Price
this book is so. good. it can be a little dense if you’re looking for light reading, but it’s probably the most comprehensive book i’ve ever read about archaeology.
neil price has a really great view of the vikings, and that is that they were human. their beliefs were not myths to them, they were real life. and what i think is most important is that he takes a special interest in portraying vikings as several diverse groups of people who were not simply battle-loving brutes.
if you’re looking on a good viking handbook, i think this is the one.
If she is your girlfriend then why is she playing with my mullet?
I finally did a thing. ☺️
I watched as orange ecstasy
Danced under clouds of its own making
Its dust storm kicked up by bliss
It laughs, it eats, it lives
Against the blackness of a city restless
Shadowed and raining embers and ash
Those lovely sisters shaped from chaos
God-fire we can sample
It begins
Odin, creating the first humans: Hmmm... I think I'll name them "Ask" and "Embla".
God: -pffft! what silly names
Later,
God, creating the first humans: Ah yes, Adam and Eve. Such unique and original names.
Odin: (-_-)
