for when you get back online you should answer: numbers 3, 6, 28, 30 :D
#3 - A song that reminds you of summertime
You have awesome timing, because summer has arrived blastin’ into the city. Yesterday we reached 32ºC - that’s 90ºF for the Americans! I’m basically sitting here basking in the heat like a happy crocodile
For some reason, summer is lazy 60s songs. So because I am super obvious and not at all subtle, The Lovin’ Spoonful’s Summer In The City, because if you’re ever been in Seville, you know it’s like this:
Hot town, summer in the cityBack of my neck getting dirty and grittyBeen down, isn’t it a pityDoesn’t seem to be a shadow in the cityAll around, people looking half deadWalking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match headBut at night it’s a different worldGo out and find a girlCome-on come-on and dance all nightDespite the heat it’ll be alright
Also, The Kinks’ Sunny Afternoon.
#6 - A song that makes you want to dance
The Beatle’s Twist and Shout, because, come on. It’s The Beatle’s Twist and Shout. If that song doesn’t make you want to dance, you’re dead. Rock ‘n Roll in general makes me want to dance.
# 28 - A song by an artist with a voice that you love
My favorite female voice ever is Regina Spektor’s, and one of the songs that really captures her full range and the haunting, melodic tones she’s capable of is Just like the Movies. At some point I’ll make a rec list just with Regina Spektor’s songs because she’s fucking incredible and I know many people don’t know some of her most awesome old songs and B-sides.
As for male voices, I’m going to be an ass and go with a duet: Fall Out Boy’s 20 Dollar Nose Bleed. Patrick Stump and Brendon Urie’s voices, singing styles and ranges are very similar, and Patrick Stump mixes them masterfully in this song. Watch out for the chorus, were their voices blend so seamlessly that unless you really, really know each singer, you won’t be able to tell they’re a duet at all.
I don’t know any non-binary singers, so if anyone drops me an ask with some recs to genderqueer musicians that’ll be cool.
#30 - A song that reminds you of yourself
Rilo Kiley’s A Better Son or Daughter. And there’s no way to explain this one without acting like a teenager, so just give it a listen.
