Sokka: the way he balances humor with being serious. I loved that Sokka isn’t always the comic relief and has serious moments from time to time. He isn’t just there to be the butt of a joke, he’s actually a valuable character.
Zuko: his redemption arc man, it’s just very good. His inner turmoil, the way he realised he wasn’t happy at home, getting his honor back all on his own and realising nobody can give it to you. That’s a good story right there.
• least favorite thing about them
Sokka: I love Jack Desena but man did I hate the laugh he gave Sokka. He just fucken screeches, it’s not even a laugh, he sounds like a seagul
Zuko: I love him but he’s just an absolute dumbass sometimes. Just very dense. And also an ahole from time to time.
Sokka: Hey! We’re in enemy territory! Those are enemy birds!
Zuko: WHY AM I SO BAD AT BEING GOOD
Both of them with Aang. I just need more of these three fulfilling the wholesome boys will be boys trope and do dumb shit together. I need them to make waterskis out of driftwood and use Appa to ski across a puddle, or some other idiotic shit that makes Katara wanna pull her hair out.
I kinda really like the dynamics of the Zukka ship. Not in canon though, in AU. In canon I ship the regular Maiko and Sukka. But my OTP is definitely Zukka.
Zucest, Zutara and Tokka. Zucest bc again, it’s fucken incest you nasty, Zutara bc I really don’t like them, never have. The Zutara that I do kinda ship though is the one where they’re both older and their own spouses have passed away. That’s when I feel like they might find each other and live a happy rest of their days. I don’t like Tokka because of the very same reasons I listed in the Toph version. Sokka would not abandon Toph with his child. He just wouldn’t.
Sokka is a confident bisexual and Zuko is a disaster gay. Nuff said.
I already made a post with me explaining why but I’ll say it again: people need to stop treating Zuko like a cinnamon roll who could do no wrong. People like to just gloss over his past (especially ppl with a certain ship) and just pretend he’s an angel. Yes he did have his redemption arc but that doesn’t mean you can’t hold him accountable anymore. He still burnt down villages and hurt people.
I think people should really give Sokka more credit. He came up with amazing ideas and plans and became a very noble person with good morals. I hate when people just paint him off as comic relief because that’s clearly not what bryke intended with his character.
