What’s your favorite quirk/habit you give the cc cast when you write them?

Thank you so much for the ask! :D I'm going to stick to who I've written so far, but that's still quite a few to think about! I hope you enjoy my silly/angsty/cute snippets. :3 Genesis He annotates the crap out of any book he owns. Don't get me wrong, he's got pristine copies of all editions of LOVELESS reserved for viewing only, but he's also got versions exclusively for scribbling notes and interpretations in the margins. In one particular copy, though, the notes start to get choppier, rougher, more...unhinged, as the degradation drags from months into years and his desperation for a cure deepens, particularly after the Nibelheim incident. Angeal This man can take a nap anywhere. Up a tree, in a rock crevice, in a military truck that's careening into every pothole by a careless driver... Angeal is the king of shuteye in unlikely places. It's very handy on rough missions. Sephiroth Likes to exercise his authority as a First to refuse any SOLDIER missions that even vaguely assist Hojo's research out of sheer spite. Genesis is incredibly proud of him. Zack This guy is a chaos cook, and by that I mean he just throws whatever crap he has available into a pan and just vibes. The 'throw anything together' habit he picked up from Angeal, yes, but he missed the 'think about sensible flavour combinations' part. Cloud He's a nervous fidgeter and has a lot of anxious energy that needs to escape. Drumming his fingers, leg bouncing, fiddling with his earring, picking skin, you name it. This behaviour is more prominent in his infantry days, too. Cissnei She's a collector, and by that I mean a collector of small keepsakes and trinkets found on missions around the world. Being raised in a orphanage meant that she barely had any possessions growing up, so she treasured anything that was hers and hers alone. Sometimes it's silly things from gift shops, or interesting rocks, feathers, scales, etc.

(She definitely kept a feather from that Genesis copy in Sector 8, for example.) Lazard You think this bloke only started embezzling money from ShinRa when Genesis defected? Not a chance. A lot of it gets funnelled to his non-ShinRa relatives, but also gets channelled into charitable projects around Midgar supporting people of the slums.

I think I saw your genesis x cissnei work many years ago and I have you to thank for my shipping them until now hahaha yours was truly a vision ✨️

@another-dreamless-daze, oh my god??? really??? I have the biggest smile on my face now holy heck, I've been sailing alone in my little boat of Genesis/Cissnei for so long, it's delightful to know it's not just me! ;w;

There's just some feeling I get when imagining them together that just GETS me so damn bad, even though they don't ever truly interact... the nearest we get is this scene here, and that's a Genesis copy that tried to do her in, OTL.

I think Cissnei's appreciation for wings and what they mean to her personally (freedom from a life where she had minimal / difficult choices, having come from a ShinRa-run orphanage that sounded pretty brutal to the kids, to the point where she ended up being the youngest Turk ever) would definitely leave her with some sort of envy/longing/hurt over how Genesis (and Angeal by extension) appears to view his own.

Maybe she's jealous that Genesis managed to break free from otherwise being firmly in ShinRa's clutches (especially if she was aware of how he was made by the Jenova project). That he literally flew the coup, wings and all, and perhaps a hidden part of her wishes she could have the courage to do the same one day. (It's not like she chose ShinRa, it was the environment she was raised in, and her only path to a better life.)

And we also know she's got a little rebellious streak for helping others/doing the right thing (i.e. w/ Zack and Cloud on the run near CC's end). So I wonder, if she harboured any feelings for Genesis at any point, how she might act on them during CC, being a Turk and all.

I also think, if the opportunity of her being close to Genesis ever presented itself somehow during CC, she'd be really fascinated by/in awe of his feathers, and that might throw him off guard. (:< (I drop a few little fun tidbits of both of them in my fic, Thing With Feathers, that basically covers this XD)

Basically the potential for angst and drama and romantic/sexual tension lives in my head rent free lmao

And let's be honest they would just be such an aesthetic pair, especially now we've seen Cissnei's FF7: Rebirth outfit, hnngg. and she'd also be able to dish back whatever snarky/cheeky attitude Genesis could throw at her, too. oh, the trouble they could cause...

Now my brain is going off on a potential post-DoC Genesis/Cissnei thing, oh my god...

How do you feel about wedding boutique-owner Kita Shinsuke finally being animated?🥺

I’ve downloaded every screenshot of his amazing face, that’s how I feel.

I’m,,,,

Anime Only’s finally get to meet Kita Shinsuke, number 1 dad to 5 wild children and husband to ‘is the butt of every joke but still loves his kids’ Ojiro Aran.

Kita’s arc is so interesting but short yet so deeply ingrained in the path of the others. Not only because of his sterner attitude scaring them, but because he actions of care with the medicine and food for Atsumu and the note to ensure he’s taking care of himself, he grounds the team in a way no one else can and they all love him so much and so do I ;v;.

I missed him these last few weeks, and I really hope to see him in the manga again before it ends. Even if it’s just him smiling at the screen watching Atsumu play because Atsumu and Osamu did what they said they would. They were kohai Kita could be proud of, and I have no doubt he looks upon his old team with his team, every single member, with nothing but affection and happiness for them.

asdajsdsa Birdy, you're too kind! 😭 (Also, fun fact - everything behind him is on fire, as it should be.) Honestly, my favourite HC is that Gen could be Aerith's half sibling. If neither Angeal or Sephiroth avoided the The Crazy Dad Scientist trend, it stands to reason that Gast got his own progeny involved. (Though I do really wonder what 'unique' factor Gen's cells are supposed to have. Heaven forbid Square actually tells us more about that though, pfff. Genesis content cheapskates. :P) Also imagine the chaos those two would cause if they ever met. @rune-rapier has done some brilliant art of them too.

1. The character everyone gets wrong.

You know 'im, you love 'im, it's the one and only Genesis Rhapsodos, babey~! Honestly, I've seen people treat him like he's some special kind of terrible for an antagonist whilst not holding the same measure to other characters who have behaved just as bad. Do I condone any of the terrible actions he took? Of course not! Do I also find him infinitely fascinating and nuanced and not just a one-dimensional poetry-quoting asshole? Yes! I get Mr. Rhapsodos drove quite a people mad with his LOVELESS-quoting tendencies, and I will say that Crisis Core suffered for being limited to the PSP and from some poor writing choices. But I'll also say that if Square had properly contrasted his pre-and-post degradation mental state and built a sturdy foundation of his friendship with Angeal and Sephiroth, the impact of his desertion and the betrayal he felt would've hit much harder. that's what fanart and fanfic are for and Genesis is so much richer for it

22. Your favourite part of canon that everyone else ignores.

I bet there's a bunch, but my brain is malfunctioning and all I can think of right now is not quite something that's ignored per-se but I haven't seen much on yet. Gillian Hewley's house in Banora is covered in lovely nature photos that I am certain were taken by Angeal and gifted to her by him to brighten things up.

Also, another obscure thing that I noticed that when Zack goes to Banora in Crisis Core, there are wreaths on all the doors of the houses. The timeline notes that this happens in December, which would imply these are festive decorations. And that just kind of breaks my heart for whatever reason cause it means the village was taken over not long after people put out decorations. Ouch.

Also I need to mention my headcanon that Mideel appears to be in the southern hemisphere, which means Banora has a summer Christmas. And cause I'm Australian, for years I've had the mental image of Genesis, Sephiroth and Angeal (and screw timelines, Zack and Cloud too) having a typical Aussie barbeque/Christmas celebration in Banora. Think Angeal on the barbie, cooking up a storm and chugging a beer, Zack and Cloud playing backyard cricket, Genesis and Sephiroth sitting in those dingy white lawn chairs in shorts and silly Christmas shirts with sunnies on, Gillian putting together a pavlova, etc.

Hello there. Based on the Genesis wingy thingy I was wondering if I could throw this question at you. When/how/why do you think Sephiroth had his wing? (If we know this from canon and I just forgot cuz i'm a dummy, please disregard the question)

Hi hello there, @emotionalwarmth! :D

In the OG, as far as I recall, Sephiroth only starts sporting his black wing when he turns into his Safer Sephiroth form. And then in the FF7R series, it appears at will after the the main game's events have kicked off. So we really don't get any sort of idea of when it first happened or occurred.

Maybe we can assume he learned this about his body shortly after falling into the Lifestream in the Nibel reactor? He probably put 2 & 2 together after learning his origins and seeing Genesis and Angeal and figured it was something he was more than capable of as well. Of course, the real fun happens when you get AUs creeping in and you can imagine it happening well before Seph's aware of his origins. There's loads of angst and feelings to be be had there for sure.

Hrrrrm well these are things that have made me happy in the last 24 hours, just to keep things interesting:

I saw a male Satin Bowerbird down by my local creek and did my usual check on his pretty blue bower

I was recording some cutscenes from Crisis Core and forgot how damn pretty the glowy Banora ruins were oh my god they're so gorgeous

My cat Pyrrha begging to come into my study (where my birds also live)... I let her in when the birds were nice and safe in their cage and she got so excited her tail went all shaky (I hardly let her in case the birds are usually flying free)

Thinking silly gushy thoughts about our favourite red bastard trash king Genesis and *respectfully* admiring his lovely feathers

I drank several cups of delicious tea today and they hit extra good cause it's pretty chilly in the lower parts of Australia right now.
