I realized I don’t talk too much about the more writing-focused stuff I work on, meaning no one would know to ask me questions about this stuff when I reblog “please ask me about my OCs” posts lol. Here’s a quick overview of stuff I’m working on.

“Fleshed out” OCs (Reference sheets can be found here!):

Vex, (he/they), funny shape shifting demon-ish guy who runs a coffee truck

Zana, (he/him), Saiyan who wants to reconcile his Saiyan heritage with new Earthling culture, exists in an AU where his Saiyan “bloodline” find & replaces Goku’s

Alex, (any/all), Keyblade wielder from The Real World who has been sucked into a world that combines and connects a bunch of video game worlds together (except not anything touched by Kingdom Hearts lol), who doesn’t know much of anything about video games

“Alternate Universes”:

The AWF, the (WWE Create A Wrestler) wrestling promotion that’s focused on “what if superheroes were pro wrestlers” that I make YouTube videos for

Earth-AP, a DC AU we used for our superhero actual play podcast. Basically exists as a “what if I made Ultimate Spider-Man but for Superman and the DC universe at large, and also made it a TTRPG setting” setting.

Long Point Station, a Star Trek fanfic series/setting that takes place on a re-commissioned Deep Space 4, now called Long Point Station. Short stories follow Max (he/him) and his friends as they set up a coffee shop on the edge of Federation space.

🔥 pokemon

It’s a fucking MIRACLE that we got games past Gen 1. Have you played them recently? Fucking terrible! I “rebooted” my “play every mainline Pokémon game in Generation Order” lets play series recently and DREADED the idea of having to play Red, Blue, and Yellow again. Outside of a complete overhaul of the games, like FireRed/LeafGreen, I cannot imagine playing those games for fun. And not in the current year, when the released they had glaringly obvious issues!

🔥 dragon ball

Oooo this is a good one. I’ll give THREE!

Dragon Ball Z Abridged has done irreparable damage to the dragon ball z fandom, despite being only “good” in its last 3-part episode.

Those GBA games suck ass, probably worse games than the Xenoverse series and the Budokai Tenkaichi series. Outside of FighterZ, Fusions, and Infinite World I can’t of many actually good video games in the decades they’ve been making DBZ games.

It’s cool, actually, that there’s a billion transformations. Of course every one of these characters, Saiyans especially, would have all these different transformations! The transformations are extensions of their personalities!!

since vex is a demon and its been a couple of groovy years, have you thought about how they work overall for your brand of joshly knowledge 👀 since some folks do certain rings or make them something else entirely different

Hmmmm I’ve really liked the demon idea for Vex basically the whole way through. I love that he’s a supernatural being in a mundane setting, a guy who can breathe fire to help make coffee and also grow bigger horns and teeth if someone is being an asshole customer. One of the few things that stick about him as I think about him and make changes and generally add on is the shapeshifting, the fire breathing, and that he loves to make a deal and make bets. The reason he runs the coffee truck is that a long-gone friend made a bet with him, and the friend “lost”, giving Vex the coffee truck. It was very clearly all a big gesture of love and support, “tricking” Vex into staying in one place and allowing him to set roots. So I like the idea that he loves to make small, “meaningless” bets all the time.

Other aspects of him and the design change (sometimes I draw him with the sunken, 2D Gorillaz eyes and other times I don’t), but those are core so far.
