cades, his brother and his mom all help to make a cake, more fabulous than the year before. by time they’re done they’re usually too tired to eat it, so cades always calls the next day his birthday, because that’s when they usually do get to it

coffee! with all the sugar and milk

both. he can think better when he’s alone, but sometimes he thinks too much and needs another human being around him to balance him out.

yes, he has to be. he needs to be fit and agile and well-fed. which is difficult in a world where food can be scarce. so maybe he relies on suplements?

cades is an optimist no matter how hard he tries. because it always works out. he will always find a way for something to work out. it’s how his mom raised him.

well they don’t have fairy tales in this world. they didn’t make it. but he does enjoy the story of soulmates and the two lands.

he doesn’t know. he’s working on that.

he has no idea. he hasn’t had time to feel attraction or affection. maybe he would take them to the pool a few miles up, his favourite place in the world.

he hates his father for leaving, but even more than that he’d like to have a conversation with him. he wants to know the man better so maybe he can try to understand why he left a little better

gardening. he was obsessed with planting random things in the ground as a kid, and his mom taught him how to garden. he doesn’t have much time now to water all his plants and flowers, but his mom tries to help.

with touches. he usually holds his mom’s face as he kisses her cheek, rubs behind his cat’s ears before he leaves, bumps his brother in the arm when he wants his attention or acceptance. and when he meets him, it’s like he’s never wanted to touch another person so bad before. it starts off slow, the elbow, his wrist, tapping their feet off one another’s.

he finds himself drawn to taller people. he loves the sight of muscles being used. when someone’s about to run, jump, attack. he’s fond of noses. when their straight and curved at the tip. he just wants to run his finger along it.

a mix of his brother’s and his own. his brother is crude and crass, but never at a minority expense. his own is more full, more broad. he finds humour in everything, so it shows in his jokes.
