I am apologizing in advance for this letter.  I haven’t slept in days and days and this seems like a good idea but I’m quite sure it won’t be in the morning.  These things never are.  I don’t know why I’m even doing this.

I can’t possibly comprehend what it’s like to be you, to be dead and then not-dead and then alive again thousands of years later from the start, I don’t even know where to start, I hope you know that and I hope you will forgive me for that.  Are you scared?  Does it all frighten you but no, of course not, of course it doesn’t, it’s only people like me who are frightened.  Are you disappointed by what you see?  I suppose the Ashlanders are much the same as they were in your time if changed, but everything else, everything else is different because everything else is dead many times over and I can’t help it, I can’t bring that back for you.  I think I was supposed to but I think I was supposed to do a lot more things than the nothing I accomplished, so I am so sorry for that.  If I could, everything would be golden and shining.

What’s it like to see pale shadows of the one you protect?  Pale ghosts.  I entombed myself in a tree.  How stupid of me.  Tell me, do you only visit out of obligation or is there another reason?  I’m a Telvanni, you know.  I’m terribly wicked and I might put a spell on you if you aren’t careful, you never know.  You just never know.

I’m sorry.  I don’t know why but I am.  Mournhold wasn’t always a ruin of a city and I wasn’t always a relic, you know.  It’s too late or it’s too early and I can’t stop all the gloom from leeching out into everything I put my hands to.  Thank you for being chainmail, I know you didn’t want that but you were really good at it, I do think, and I won’t forget that.  I hope everything is beautiful and if you ever find yourself in Skyrim, look at the auroras and come for tea, won’t you?

I’m too tired to do the right spells so I don’t know how this is going to get to you.  I should find a hawk and tie this to its leg and set it free on the winds in hopes it knows where to go.

Neht didn’t get any sleep that night or the next, but he managed a whole night after that.  He found the letter crumpled up in the pockets of his robes and could not remember even writing it.  He folded the crinkles out, studied it, frowned, and then promptly burned it.

What, is there something wrong with my hair?  What is wrong with my hair?!  I beg you, tell me.  And...pardon me, are you really asking me for cake recipes, sir?  Why would you think I would know any cake recipes?  Do I look like someone who gets to have cake?  Ha, I wish.  You must be mistaking me for someone else, mister.  Some other Neht, if there are other Nehts.  I do not believe that we have had the pleasure of meeting before.  I would have remembered you, if it is not too bold to say.

Even though Neht knows little about Alandro Sul (the Tribunal did a pretty good job wiping out references to him), he desperately wants his approval.  Neht wants nothing more than to ask him what the hell actually happened at Red Mountain and what life was like in general back then, but he’s terrified of offending him by bringing up bad memories.  He’s pretty worried about offending Alandro Sul in general, since despite knowing that the Tribunal killed Nerevar and Almalexia tried to kill him, Neht still worships the idea of them.  That’s not the kind of thing that sits well with many Dunmer these days and likely not at all with a Chimer who was there.  As well, Neht feels like a poor substitute for Nerevar, so he feels like Alandro Sul is judging him for not really being him. 

Basically, Alandro Sul intimidates the hell out of him and he feels ashamed of himself and not sure what to do or say when he’s around, but he would also very much like it if he would visit his tower so that he can feed him pie.

[I wouldnt worry too much. The chitin armor doesnt look that great, from what Ive seen. OTOH, playing Skyrim in a hallway outside of class is hardly the best environment for seeing stuff on my screen.]

((The Chitin armor was one of my favorites when I played on xbox.

Problem is Ethis is on my computer version of the game and I have mods I use on him... and the chitin armor in Morrowind Armor is ugly as balls.))
