War Evolves
Thud. My head collides against something hard as I land. A blinding flash of pain forces my eyelids shut to better tolerate the impulse. I have had certainly better jumps in the past, but this is what I deserve for not strengthening myself beforehand. Remedying that now might ease my aching skull.
" Trace, on."
As my incantation leaves my lips, I feel the ethereal blades rush from their places within my mind and throughout my body. Reinforcement is thought to be a comparatively weak magecraft against several of the schools Tohsaka has effectively mastered already. Thankfully, my distortion proves otherwise. The swords embedded inside me enhance my physical abilities to match the hero I learned such things from.
But, I'm getting lost in my own thoughts when I should be scouting the area. The only thing I can see from here is the wall I hit me head on. Most of all, I can't allow for my presence to be detected unnecessarily. When traversing the multiverse, it's best to leave as small a footprint as possible.
Heading outside made me realize what I was inside of. The ocean stretched out below me without any visible land. From what I gathered, this compound was an oil platform but, it's been retrofitted by the troops occupying it to function as a high end military base. Either that, or the guys walking around with old guns and snazzy uniforms take their cosplay deadly seriously. Their patches didn't match any country I am familiar with; in fact, the only identifying feature it possessed besides a skull emblem was the phrase, 'soldiers without borders,' written in French, if Waver's translation enchantment was correct. Piecing the evidence together, I have landed in the heart of a private military company's home base. I guess I copied his Luck as well.
Evading the guards was a simple matter of staying out of their line of sight until they passed by me. It took a little patience, but stealth is remarkably easier when one has superhuman abilities. During my exploration, I never came across a map or a building layout, making flying blind my only option. The building I decided on was the Research and Development facility. As high tech as the locks were, the walls were not nearly as difficult to cut through.
Which brings us to where I am now. The air vents I had used ended at a large hangar, storing something gargantuan in size. From my angle in this windowed booth, I can't see the entirety of the machination. If I can just lean out more, then I could-
A creaking emanates from behind me. Someone opened the door, and, more importantly, could see me in plain view. I freeze in place. Moving to cover might appear hostile in nature while projecting a weapon would leave no doubt in my discoverer's mind. The only thing I can do is wait for him to make the first move.
