“It happened again,” Sonny clipped, stress curling his lip. “This is the second time this week.”
Oh. Of course. He was deteriorating. He would be useless, soon. “P- please don’t tell him,” Port begged.
Sonny blinked hard, frustrated. “Mr. Oz is dead.”
Port’s heart dropped. Was he? Right, he had…
There was the clench of a residual twitch in his hand— the thought, whatever it had been, slipped away unfinished through the holes in his mind. His master could not know that he was defective. He needed to prolong it for as long as possible. “Don’t tell him,” he pleaded, trying to get it through Sonny’s head. “I- I’ll get better.”
Sonny just sighed. “Go back to sleep. You’re out of your mind.”
i'm so mad. i wrote out this whole response to an ask and then tumblr ATE IT so i'm rewriting it now >:( thankfully the ask went to my email too so here:

Hi just wanted to say that I love the way you do color and your art style is really really pretty!! If it’s not too much trouble could I ask how you typically go about coloring/shading?
thank you!! to start i usually slap down some base colors and then go from there.
when it comes to the multi-color painterly style, i have a brush with "color jitter" settings so that it will automatically change color with each stroke. they're minute differences that i enjoy for the visual interest. (when i first started experimenting with this style i used to shift colors manually which took. so much time.) if i'm looking for a specific color i'll choose it manually.
i usually do this coloring style all on one layer because it's quite painterly. if i have a color reference i'll pick from that, but for the example below i just colored from the heart.
for flatter colors, i'll shade on a separate layer. i usually select colors as opposed to using a single shading color with a multiply layer or whatever. i kinda hate doing cel shading u_u
in my most recent art, i just scribbled over the base color with the same brush i used for line art!
sometimes when i'm done i'll throw an overlay layer over it to make the colors more cohesive and/or add some sort of vignette/glow effect. i did this with the first example.
hopefully this actually answered what you were curious about! if you have more specific questions feel free to ask :p
