Hi there! Hope you're having a good day (or at least a more OK one, which is also good). 🫂
I have a Pedro Scout Asknado for you:
If Din were to finally be comfortable enough with you to remove the beskar so you could see him, do you think he would remove his gloves first, or his helmet? (this of course could be a platonic situation, not necessarily romantic or sexual)
I guess I'm asking what would be most important to Din in this moment - you knowing what he looks like, or simply the idea of revealing himself to someone he trusts and cares for?
It seems like it would be very emotional for Din, so the thought of him wanting you to see him - and any kind of ritual or even thought process behind it - fascinates me a little. Sorry if this got a little heavy.
My @maggiemayhemnj Thank you. I'm feeling a little better today 💛💛
Okay. I love this question. As I too have sooo many thoughts and feelings on this helmet thing. I even made up a whole reason his tribe doesn't show their faces in this fic because it's not explained in any detail in the show. But it's heavily implied that they don't take their helmets off for anyone ever...which to me is so extreme and goes against our humanity...but that's my opinion
I think, Din would slowly become more comfortable with someone, so his gloves would come off first. It's not that he can't show skin, it's that he can't remove his helmet in front of others.
I love face reveal fics. And I wrote one where Din actually isn't nervous at all to show the one he loves his face. In fact he's frustrated because reader is the one hung up. Don't know if you've read it, it's here, it's all fluff.
It's not about the being seen part of revealing his face, it's about the trust. So in a world where Din walks both ways...if Din never shows you his face, he doesn't trust you. That's my head canon in my Din fics.
Did this answer your question? I don't even know.
